You're coaching MU on Tuesday.....what's your overall strategy and plan of attack?  How do we get Kam in particular going?

Bench Kam and start Keeyan

You have your moments but you're not Oscar Wilde.  Also, witty people don't attempt to be witty every second of the day.  It just flows naturally from their pen or mouth.  It's time to wake up and get serious.

Make 3 poiners.  Have Kam running the pick and roll with Oso.  They're going to drop Kalk defensively.

I think he's do to break out but I'd like to see him pick his spots in the paint to score or drop some dimes.

Two things going in Kam's favor: (i) a week for resting up; (ii) a chance to get some shots and see it go through the hoop during practice.

I think the former is the most important at this point. He seems a little dinged still. As to "getting Kam going" it's really just a matter of getting him shots. I'd like to see a bit more violence on the offensive end from Oso as opposed to the last game--make some quick drives, backdowns, or pass once receiving the ball rather than standing and waiting with his back to the hoop like in the X game. I think those can open things up for Kam on the 3 pt line (think that 3 he hit against UConn towards the end).

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Get serious about what?  A college basketball game?

I thoroughly agree with you Jake.  I'd really like Oso to be far more nasty and aggressive.

I thought he was woke?

Gotta hit some 3's...tee it high and let it fly.  Push tempo.  Have fun and be the more agressive team.  I think Shaka will feel more comfortable using his bench in this game?

We shoot 28% from 3...like the last time we played them...I don't like our chances.

GoldenEagles03

Not worried one bit.  This game is going to be fun and Marquette can play with a nothing to lose mindset.

Don't think they're not motivated though.  This team is big on individual game themes.  They've used payback for Xavier and Providence and although they beat Creighton in December, they were swept in 3 games against them last year.  We owe them another!
VIOLENCE!

Change everything MU has been doing and panic.
Pure iso ball.
Slow tempo.
Mindlessly jack 3's and pull ups from 18.
Channel Wisconsin or DePaul.

21-6.  Conference road game against a ranked team.  Both teams know what the other is going to do.   Weather the energy storm from their crowd.  Hope to hit open 3's.    As opposed to Wednesday, use the bench to wear them down.

We need to get the 3-Ball on track.  What's with the recent stagnation and hesitation Tower?

They are good but I don't think they are that good. 6 man rotation seems like a big weakness.

Correct me if I am wrong, but that is not who he thinks will win, but which bets are the best value.

Edit: or maybe it is. Of course he states lets dive into 4 teams, and he talks about 3, with blurbs about 3 others.

If you knew how to read, it was for the Xavier game in which he was crapping all over the floor. When a player is playing that poorly, he needs to sit and observe.

Two former studs  from Omaha Creighton Prep that played for MU.
Kerry Trotter a Nebraska HS all timer, and a fine player at MU. And who can forget that sidekick Italian Stallion, Vic Lazeretti?

Last I heard, Vic Lazzaretti was a lawyer with Von Briesen, I think in St. Louis.

The coach didn't think so and Marquette won.

I think we will need more from the freshmen than we got against Xavier.   The only basket I remember from any of them was the goaltending on Gold.  Ross is the only one who played at all in the second half, even when Kolek had 4 fouls.

Now, maybe Shaka figured his team doesn't play for 6 days so he could wring out the starters.  OK

I want more against Creighton.

I hope Ben Gold brings it in Omaha.  Similar to UConn with Clingan, he's got skills that make him a match up problem for Kalkbrenner.

We R Final Four

When Creighton hosted Xavier and Xavier had Hunter in the game, Creighton put Kalk on Hunter and had him completely ignore Hunter.  He just played a one man zone about 4 feet in front of the rim.  I'm worried Crieghton will do that to Oso.  Xavier was doing that early in the game and it really clogs up any cuts to the rim and bogs down this offense.  I'd like to see Oso attack the rim and get into Kalk's body to take away his shot blocking and/or draw fouls.  I'd also like to see Oso do a handoff to Kam at the top of the key if Kalk is ignoring him, and really hit Kam's defender on the screen after the handoff.  Should give Jones some open looks, and if their defense gets into rotation then you can attack going downhill.
Yes. Nunge just sat in the lane begging Oso to shoot. He got that 10'-12' floater going but it seemed a bit uncomfortable for him. If Oso can hit that little floater a bit further out it opens yet more for him. And as Oso goes, so do we.
