Stevie is so well spoken. Can tell hes gonna be such a leader for the years to come.

The way he described the culture was like it was literally Shaka saying it.

He reminds me of Markus off the court. Class act all the way.

Will be a plus for MU for decades to come.

Wojo brought in a lot of high character kids. Love the three players he recruited on this team.

Shaka interviewed on Field of 68 tonight. Hyped up ONax for keeping his head in the game.

Both were impressive at the podium.  Intelligent, thoughtful, confident.  That character and togetherness was worth at least 2 points tonight, turning an L into a W.

I love everything about those two press conferences.

This is a hell of a team. The amount of care and resolve they have for each other is astounding.

I loved when Omax walked in.  Two teammates clearly enjoying the moment and each other's company.

The jug and domino-box could easily be discarded as gimmicks if Shaka wasn't so damn authentic.  This team is bought in.

Around the 6:24 mark a question was asked "are you able to take some time to enjoy what you're doing knowing there is still work to do?"

OMax and Stevie kinda looked at each other, OMax with a smirk, and they gave an answer that literally sent chills down my spine (maybe lame...I know).

A lot of times guys maybe press or worry too much but that reaction from OMax and Stevie was quick but genuine...like hell ya we are having fun...that's where this all starts.

It was a quick moment but I'll probably watch that 10 more times...chills.

Except he passes and plays defense.

Oh wait, you said off the court, nevermind.

Markus being a poor defender is largely a myth. He struggled his freshman year and was an average defender by the team he was a sophomore and always at very least gave effort on that end of the court (Obviously Stevie is a much better defender, not even close).

As for passing, Stevie's assist rate is 8%. Markus never had one lower than 18.4% (sophomore year) and was over 26% in both his junior and senior years.

I get taking shots at Wojo. I don't understand your need to take shots at Markus when he's been nothing but an amazing player on the court and representative off of it.

Markus played a style of ball that I found incredibly frustrating & hard to watch.  Off the court, incredible human being; on the court, I’m glad we are where we are.

Wojo picked the style, not Markus. That's what I don't get

Both interviews were terrific.  Stevie and OMax were great.  You can see the deep relationships the team has and I think that the love they feel for each other, knowing the player and the person - all that helps on the court and helps fill in a little bit for an older more experiences team,

And Shaka just hits it out of the park every time.  The dominoes and pitcher might me a gimmick, but it is a physical and mental buy-in that demonstrates to each other their commitment to each other on and off the court.   I like.

TAMU has a very rationale way of looking at.  Part of being a fan is not always rationale.

I am so thankful for where we are as a program right now.

Part of being a fan is not always rationale.
I could never make myself like Gardner.
I thought Joey was petulant and immature, but kept it to myself for the most part until he left.   Plus, he might grow out of it.
Merritt always irked me.
I thought Jamil left some opportunities out there.

I recognize these are my glitches.

You may have been sitting behind me at the BC back in the Merritt days.  There was lively vocalization of dislike for him during every game.

I recognize these are my glitches.

it is possible to be thankful and complimentary to the current team without ripping on former players.  I dont understand why that is so hard for some people.

Only game I saw in person during the Merritt era was in South Bend.

Golden

I have said it before, there will be more talented teams in the Shaka era, but quite possibly never a better “team”. That is why they need to push as hard as possible and take advantage of what could be a dream season. Seasons like this happen very infrequently in a lifetime and I am betting on them making a lot more noise before The Masters.

I agree with all of this. But there's a light side and a dark side to irrationality as a fan. Turn away from the dark side!
