I'm going to be anxiously awaiting news about the injuries to the Jones "brothers".

Until I hear otherwise I'm going to assume (or at least hope) that Kam's injury is one of those knee to a fleshy area blows that causes a deep bruise and tightens up quickly. I had those in my younger playing days, and they can really be hard to deal with. But, with proper treatment, that stiffness should be OK in a day or two.

Sean's injury bothers me more. If he has something broken or severely sprained that could be a long term thing, maybe even season ending.

Sean was floor slapping on the sideline, I suspect he'll be alright sooner rather than later.

With Sean, it looked like a lace up splint to me, not a cast.  Fingers crossed.

Early reports are Kam broke his hip.  Had a hip boot on at Subway
Ramsey head thoroughly up his ass.

I saw that. I was like, "Easy on the floor-slaps, Sean!"

Despite Joplin's incredible shooting today, we need Kam to be healthy and at his best in March.

He was slapping with his left hand with his right hand tucked away.

Their health is the most important. Long way to go. If either isn't 100% Wednesday then sit them.

I heard it was at Jimmy John's.

Both Sean Miller and Danny Hurley have mentioned that what makes this MU team so tough to guard is that for the duration of a game, there's no drop-off at the second unit, particularly in the backcourt. Sean Jones and his speed is a big part of this, and his burst entering a game, just as the opponent is starting to tire, is an underrated facet of this team. Need him healthy to reach our potential. And it clearly goes without saying how important Kam is.

FWIW, I think Kam has been gimpy since at least the X game.

From the JS: Sean Jones sits out with wrist injury, then Kam Jones gets hurt

MU needed those big games from Joplin and Kolek because they were short-handed with freshman guard Sean Jones getting scratched before the game with a right wrist injury.

"He'd been playing through it," Smart said. "Practicing through it. The X-ray was negative. Practiced yesterday really well and then we got out here before the game and his wrist was just a little more swollen."

Then in the first half, leading scorer Kam Jones fell down hard and exited the game for a few minutes. He played the first four minutes of the second half, but then sat for the rest of the game.

"Kam kind of hurt his hip a little bit in the first half," Smart said. "He tried to go back in but you could see he just didn't have the same ability to play as hard."

Both Joneses are day-to-day. But nothing seems to keep this MU team from rolling along.
