It's a thing of beauty when that thing drops straight down and tickles the twine.  I also look at it a little bit like a show-stopping hammer flush aesthetically.  That said, is that much of an increase in his arc making him a better shooter? Or potentially a better shooter at the NBA level?  It seems to me hitting that with consistency might be more difficult?

The Sultan

Kam's problem is the long release - not how high the shot goes.

Problem in what sense?  That he needs to get it off more quickly?

Brings back memories of the Running Rebels in the 90s.  Wasn't it Anderson Hunt that had big arc?

Sorry...problem for the NBA. He will need to get it off more quickly yes.

Think it was fellow lefty Stacy Augmon..

It was Augmon and he was fun to watch. Absolutely loved those Vegas teams.

Think Hunt was a righty. PG (Anthony) was a lefty, though, as was Augmon.

Dont know that it's a slow release so much as a very low release point? Either would be a problem in the NBA.

Shouldn't we consider playing that at Fiserv every time Kam drops a high arcing triple?

That would be awesome...just that initial four-note lick.

Yep....that should be considered imo.

Back in the day another lefty, Gary Rosenberger, had a very high arch to his outside shooting as well. He played a long time ago and going from memory, but think Kam gets a bit more hang time that Rosy got in the '70's.

Wasn't Rosey a left-hander as well? At least that's the way I remember him. One of the few guys that Al gave the green light to shoot whenever he was open.

From the only great CD that they put out.

But there is a bigger margin for error with the high arc.

MU82

Larry Bird had some serious arc to his 3s, too.

Still, of all the ex-players mentioned here so far, I'm really not sure any of them threw it as high as Kam's does. It's really something to behold when he's got it rollin'!

Didn't Al call it a "suburban jump shot"?

Are You Experienced just might be the most revolutionary album ever created. Nobody had ever heard anything like it. I saw Jimi at the Factory in Madison when he was on the promotional tour, and it was like seeing and hearing someone from another planet.
