Was one of the greatest college football running backs. Back in the day when the incumbent USC tailback was The Toast of  Tinseltown.

This obituary details his physical decay over the years from all the beating he took as a player .

His season in 1987 was pretty remarkable given his relatively pedestrian career up to that point. 

Drug abuse thwarted much of his potential.
