Pelé, R.I.P.

I gave being a soccer fan a try in the '70s after the Cosmos brought in Pelé, Giorgio Chinaglia and Franz Beckenbauer. Even though he was already a pretty old guy by then, Pelé was amazing to watch.

He also was an incredible ambassador for the game. I went to an outing at which he was the featured guest, and he signed autographs for everybody there -- stayed hours to do it. I still have that little sheet of paper with his signature.

Truly one of a kind. He will be missed.
