He had his pick between Augusta and Pine Valley.   He chose Pine Valley because too many people played Augusta.

Clutch putt for the win by Rory. Great to see.

I was worried that Tom Kim playing #18 like a 15 capper was going to ice him.

Anybody playing any golf this year?   Besides Rico at Augusta, Pine Valley, the Lido, Crystal Downs, etc.    How are the games coming along?    Any tips working for you?    Any new sticks paying off?

got a new titleist tsr-2 and i'm hitting some of the longest drives of my life-seriously!  most in the 240-260 range, a few 270-280 but unleashed a 319 bomb in a match play 2 weeks ago- took a pic of the gps to prove to my son the old man still has it...goodbye king cobra.  tried the paradym, but it just didn't feel right and i love callaway.  fav club in the bag is a rogue 3 hybrid with a pured shaft

remember the equipment we grew up with-woods were real woods.

I only play with hickory shafts and persimmon woods.  Still dominate the competition.  Pity the men that need to use frying pan drivers and hybrids.  Some are men, some are boys, I guess but that’s America going soft

I play 2/3 times a week and practice my short game about 40 mins 2/3 times a week.  Usually I alternate between Stanford, Baylands, Shotlreline, and Sharon Heights but recently I've hit Cinnabar which is a fantastic course closer to San Jose.   I also try to go to Half Moon Bay about once a month.

The one club I have picked up recently ithat has completely replaced my 3-Wood is an old 2-Hybrid Taylor Made (18 d).  I cannot consistently hit the 3 Wood from the deck.  It frustrated me on end.  I can hammer my 4 hy but thought I'd give the 2 hy a whirl.  The results have really helped me on long par 4's and par 5's.  I'm hitting a nice little stinging low draw with it and it's giving me some extra umph.  I've still kinda plateaued  and am about a +7 but I do think I can shed a stroke in due time.  I'm extremely confident and consistent around the greens.  If I could just find a little more pop and carry with my long i's look the f out.  :)

Considering there were 88's and 89's out there, I doubt any scoopers (other than Rico) break 110.

Love real links golf.  Best part of the year on the golf calendar.  Purist form of golf where players have to be creative and disciplined when the weather bucks unlike most of the cookie cutter trash we get on tour like TPC Sod Farm this week.  Women are at Walton Heath in two weeks ought to be lots of fun.

It’s too bad they won’t host Ryder Cups because of the lack of infrastructure.  Would be awesome

One of the best times I ever had on a golf course was at the Gailes Course at Lakewood Shores in Oscoda, Michigan.   A links style course about a mile inland from Lake Huron.   2006.

On the morning of the last day of the golf trip, we woke up to 30 mph winds and rain.  Everybody else left and went home.   I asked the pro shop if I was dumb enough to play, were they dumb enough to let me?   They said the course drained really well, have at it.  I put on all my rain gear, went out and had a blast.  4-5 club winds. Inventing shots I had never tried.  100 yard 8 irons.  Punch 3 woods.   I had the course to myself.   The rain let up after 16 holes and I saw the next group coming out #1 as I was going in #18.  17 years later and I can still picture a few of the most fun shots I have ever hit in my life from that day.

I have played halfway decent this year. Scoring a bit lower than last year and have enjoyed some fun days. Had a very nice time playing with a couple of scoopers and almost every family member over the past month. I have Erin Hills coming up in a few weeks and looking forward to it.

I have been streaky.    Instead of shooting a 77 with 1 birdie, 6 bogies, and 11 pars, I am shooting it with 3 birdies, 13 pars, and two 8's.     73,75, 77, 79, 88, 78.      Normal short game for me for 3-4 rounds, then inexplicably getting the chipping shanks for 3 holes before going back to normal.  No one thing, just streaks where my game completely leaves me.
I am the proverbial little girl with the little curl right in the middle of my forehead.    My good is as good as it ever been.   My bad is random and pathetic.     And those weird things that gut a round.    Reaching a pond off of a tee that I haven't reached in 20 years.    Yay, I'm bombing it.   Boo, it is a double bogey.    That kind of stuff.

Ah, well.    The adventure is the journey.

Tower, you must eliminate the abominable snowman.  That simply cannot happen for a player at your level.  It's analogous to Rowsey missing 4 consecutive free throws.

That is the goal.  Right now, it is the goal for JT, too.   In my case, sometimes a hack hacks.

Been dealing with this same thing all summer, though at 8-10 strokes/round more than you.

Need to decide if I really wanna get good at this or not. With all the family activities it's hard to carve out the time to practice enough to make regular lessons worth the investment.
