Was that on the CW?

So....in the event that Marquette makes it to the Final Four in Houston, does anyone want to meet and play a couple rounds of golf down there in between games??

Follow Hatton around.  The self loathing commentary is wildly entertaining.

Watched Scheffler step up to the 17th with the wind blowing and put it close . A very talented player who will continue to b a factor in all the majors.

Was a fun day , but the event this year seemed more like a regular tour event than in years past .

Phil's team in Second Place in LIV after second round. Should be a fun final day in Tucson.

Far better golf at Valspar.

Innisbrook Copperhead Course always one of the tougher layouts on The PGA Tour.

Just picked up a set of JPX923 hot metal irons today, can’t wait to use them.

Going to La Quinta/Palm Springs in September. What courses should I try to book?

My BIL is good friends with and de-facto swing coach for Cody Gribble.  Gribble was on the UT team with Spieth that won the NCAA in 2012, but not much since then. Very much a journeyman, won a tourney in 2017 but hasn’t had a card since 2017-2018.  Had some major shoulder injuries and surgeries so he missed most of 2019-2021.  He’s back playing Korn Ferry and PGA events here and there.  He finished top 10 in a weak Puerto Rico Open two weeks ago but now he’s sitting 2 back at the Valspar and shouted out my BIL by name in his interview after his round on Friday for helping him with his swing.

He also owes my BIL a bunch of deferred money from services rendered so my sister has been updating us nearly hole by hole  ;D ;D

Here is  a good list.  I like to try the courses the Pros play on tour just to see what they are up against.

If you have some golfing connections, try to play Thunderbird Country Club. Club and Course has a lot of history. Ford named The Thunderbird after the Club.

I have played many beautiful golf courses in this country over the years and took a trip to Palm Springs some years ago.

I can honestly say that besides Oakmont (history/difficulty), the most beautiful course was the Mountain Course at LaQuinta.  It runs through the mountains and everything was perfection.

Stayed at LaQuinta Resort onsite and that was also first class.  Played all the courses at PGA West and they were great also. PGA West course was a beast.

Enjoy your trip, myself and friends had wonderful time there.

Based on pictures the mountain course looks like it needs to be at the top of my list. Staying at an Airbnb in la Quinta just south of the resort. Only question is how many mornings the wife lets me golf but I have at least 2 mornings. She might ride along on the mountain course to take in the views.

Can’t go wrong with Mountain or Nicklaus at PGA West.

Only two days, then mandatory PGA West Stadium Course. That’s the famous one and a beast.  PGA West is huge complex and clubhouse.

On side note, if interested, at LaQuinta Resort is a fantastic Mexican restaurant called Adobe Grill, has indoor as well as outdoor balcony seating, overlooking the courtyard. Terrific food and Resort is nice and quaint.

Enjoy

Looking forward to your report. I play a set of JPX 825s which I like very much. I was poking around at the golf store while getting my putter regripped and saw the 923s. Good looking irons. Definitely looked like something I could move up to some day. Since I'm 2 degrees upright it's kind of a pain to buy new irons.

I would rather watch a season package of Wisconsin basketball highlights than LIV golf.

I hope Herm is collecting a check from Norman to pimp LIV golf here. Something for the effort.

CH III and Danny Lee. My gosh, these are exactly the exciting winners that LIV promised us. The stars are shining.
