Great win. Didn't expect such a large margin of victory, but I can't object to such a big win.

LOL... too funny!  Great comment but can we extend it to at least 1996??   ;D

MU nerds partying like 19- fill in the blank

where do the students go after games? Do any of the bars exist on campus anymore?

Murphys but it's not in the same location as when I first went to MU... '92.  Bars closed since I was in school... OD's, Gullis, 'Lanche, Glocca Mora.  The Ardmore/ Gym is still there but under a different name.

they go to bed or go to raynor, according to most at least.

Back to reality, Murphy's and Caffrey's have the $3 pitchers after home games. Btw, glocca mora just closed within the last year and a half, approx., not 1992

Yes... didn't mean to imply all those bars closed in 1992... the 'lanche, Gym (changed names), and Gloc were all after I left school in '96.

Harp & Shamrock is still open and serving Bloody Mary's at 6:00am!!!

I ODs gone?

OD's was closed in the spring of 1993.    :'(

The Triangle house now resides on the former location.

It's a damn shame... IMHO, the best bar that was ever at Marquette.  Before everybody jumps all over me, the 'Lanche was #2, and the Harp & Shamrock at #3.

agree - good pool tables, sort of clean, hot chicks and great jute box

Always had a soft spot in my heart for the Ardmore/Gym (anyone know what it is called now?).

Great memory of watching it snow outside while drinking buck imports, quietly praying for it to turn into a blizzard because there was no way I was going to finish my theology paper.  Got the blizzard, cancelled classes, and a few extra days to write the paper.  Sadly, struck-out with what's her name.  Still, the miracle blizzard was worth it.

ODs and Murphys deserve honorable mentions.

How about theo's on wisconsin ave? That place had cheap drinks...

reinko

The gym bar turned into Big Shots, then Big Shots turned into Caffery's I believe

Desert_warrior

I was a bartender at the Gym for a couple of years in the mid 90's. One of my best friends was a bartender at Murphs. Bringing back memories!

Theo's was awesome.  My buddoes and I lived in the old YMCA building (before it was converted into the nice res hall it is today).  Theo's had a rear deck for sipping your drinks in warmer weather.

The jukebox had great music.  I remember one night a foreign exchange student from Japan with limited English skills singing "Bad to the Bone" into the wee hours of the night.  Hilarious.  Great memories.

Speaking of nerds, I think this thread is the perfect place for this...Are we all assuming that moron who wrote/made up that article about drunk people in the MU Tribune was one of the Deutsche Banks out there with the dance team last night? WTF was that?!?!? I know they have been doing it for a couple years now, but really, WTF was that?!?!?

In 1988, 1978...probably even 1998, no self respecting male student would have been caught dead out there. Now, I can certainly understand and perhaps even appreciate their thought process...Clearly we have all done things we aren't proud of in the interest of getting laid, but I think it's safe to assume that they actually didn't achieve that objective even/especially after that pathetic display.

I do however appreciate them providing another example of the excruciating lameness of today's college students.

I was embarrassed just watching them.  How does one get roped into something like that?

Was that article written by the same guy who predicted we wouldn't make the post season last year or maybe it was this year?
