I'm the guy who has said FOX massively overpaid for Big East rights for almost a decade now. So I took a few different approaches to try and gauge what they may be worth in today's market and came up with an answer that shocked me.

Nice article.  No need to apologize as it is very logical to follow.  What's the future value of the deal if it's 10 years at $100 million?  Napkin calc is $134 million.

The ACC really screwed themselves with their long term deal which is already obsolete. They thought they had protection from conference jumping penalties but those have already turned to chump change for football schools.

Outstanding article.  Many, many thanks for all of the work you put in behind the scenes.  I have no idea what to expect from our next TV deal, but reading these comparative examples gives me great hope that we are in strong position moving forward.

Not directly MU related but ESPN and FOX have engage with the BigXII on a new TV deal a year early than expected. I wonder of ESPN and FOX are less than exited about the PAC12, that is supposed to next up, and want to lock down the BigXII first? If ESPN gets locked out of the BigXII, like they dd with the Big10, will they be eager to get the Big East back?
