Considering Jamil already said he won't be back, DJO will be 33, Buycks will be 34, and Acker will be 36 when this next tips off, is it that perplexing? Even Cook and Blue are the wrong side of 30. Unless the will be reverse aging, a need to upgrade across the board seems logical.

I don't disagree with adding more youth. Not that the same squad will return, but I still think the same team plus 2-3 swapped players would be very competitive next year. Rebounding is definitely a need. I'm wondering if Jamil's comment was only because he's done and some of the other core players may return (Cook, DJO, Buycks, Anim, Fischer, Blue). Burton would have helped this year.

If we field an alumni team next year, I strongly suspect it will look radically different.

As much as I love these guys, it's hard to be Acker and a 5'7" 1 guard who's starting to lose a step. Pretty much everyone on the squad felt like they were a half-step slow. Time comes for us all.

Not going to lie, the well needs to be basically filled with the fringe NBA guys, and we haven't been churning a lot of them out of late. Plus between schedules and risk, a couple things have to break the right way for the international guys to come play. Is it worth the risk/does the schedule work for Markus to come hoop for the TBT when he's under contract in Europe? It's not an easy problem to solve.

I think it's a legit "if." Wouldn't be surprised if there isn't enough interest next year to field a team.

Elgin is 29 this year and Blue is just 30.  The rest have to be done.

There was no ball movement in the loss. Seems like we were trying straight line drives to the basket too much. The opponent was too athletic and talented for that strategy to work. Also the officiating style encourages the players to defend hard .

They are, I wasn't as clear as I should have been. Will be wrong side of 30 when this next tips off.

The problem isn't having guys around age 30.

I you work backwards by year through the Wojo era there are not a lot of guys who could contribute to the TBT team:

2020:
Jamal Cain
Greg Elliot

2019:
Markus
Jayce Johnson

2018:
Sam - when he's done with NBA

2017:
Sacar - already on the TBT

2016:
Duane Wilson

2015:
Hank (but don't do a package deal with Wally!)

2014:
Luke - already on TBT
Deonte - probably would have helped this year

pre-Wojo

2013:
Jamil already done

2012:
Vander - already on TBT

2011:
DJO - already on TBT (already 32 but still playing well)

2010:
Dwight Buycks - already on TBT (and 33... and losing a step)

2009:
nobody

2008:
Jerel - out of basketball

2007:
Mo... but clearly losing a step.

This of course excludes JFB, Jae, JTA and Wes.

Rowdy was on the team one year though he didn't play much. I don't know how effective he could be given his lack of defensive chops, but he could put up a lot of points in a hurry

JJJ would be an excellent addition to the team . Can shoot it, can drive it , has good passing especially in pick and roll , likes to go for steals which is big in TBT

JJJ always struck me more as a BBQ guy, being from Memphis and all, but I also wasn't with him on his official visit like some, so he may be more of a steak person.
