I have been to Lawrence, and its a nice college town.  Wouldn't particularly want to live there now, but I can see why its is attractive to college students.

The atmosphere at KU games is the best I've ever seen for a college game. It must be a pretty impressive place for a recruit on a visit ... and that's even before the money starts getting doled out.
