🏀

Moceans, Pieces of Eight for uppity.

RipTide is a more 'fun' place.

Pieces of Eight and Rip Tide are both gross. I have had horrible experiences at both and will never go back. Ever. I am going to Hooligans tonight for fish. Lake Front is good as well. Heck, just go to any bar in Milwaukee that serves food and they will have a fish fry.

Coast is actually a pretty good place for seafood.

Different topic - I went to Carnevor last night for dinner and had the kobe fillet. It was the best thing I have ever eaten. I want more!!!!

This is quite accurate. With all the competition in Milwaukee these days, I have no idea how Pieces of Eight stays in business. Rip Tide sucks too.

As suggested, just go for the Classic Milwaukee Fish Fry at any number f places. Turners will be too crowded, but they do have one of the best.

I think Pieces of Eight stays in business due to their sweetheart deal with the county / city for their lease. They just need to turn it over to the Bartalotta's and be done with it.

Oh, I would stay away from Serb Hall tonight too as John McCain will be there. It will be a zoo and you will never make tip off.

I agree with MUFan 12, you can't go wrong with Lakefront Brewery.  The fish fry is good and they have great beer, you will head into the game with a nice buzz...

I like Coast if you are looking for seafood other than a fish fry but if you are looking for a fish fry around the Bradley Center, McGillicudy's is pretty good and won't be as packed as Buck Bradley's or Turners.

scottys crab house and maxies are great too.

I will second Maxies. Completely forgot about them. A place in Milwaukee where I actually trust their raw oysters.

Also, Scotty's closed about a year and half ago.

Go down to the southside and stumble into any church basement.  If you find the right one they will have all you can eat cod and perch, and $1 drafts!

Moceans,

Moceans is closed.

Really? Damn.

Yeah, Moceans is closed. Probably because Johnny Valsallo can only do business on Plankinton and Wisconsin (except for his crap attempt at a middle priced italian restaurant). For owning as much as he does... he is an idiot.

i have never been, but there is Eagens (i think is the name) on Water St. They specialize in seafood.

Lakefront... you need to be there really early or get a group of 10 or more and make a reservation. They sell out quickly.

Robert's on Howell Avenue and Bolivar on the South Side has an amazing fish fry for a smaller place. Otherwise you can't really go wrong with Turner's if you're looking for something closer to the BC.

Agree, but tonight Turner's will be jammed, so plan on getting there very early.  Buck Bradley's too:  they closed their reservations for tonight last week.  A Friday night in Lent coupled with an eight p.m. start time will result in every establishment close to the BC being pretty busy.

Chili, tell me you were on an expense account. Otherwise, that hand massaged cow must have set you back a week's pay.

Not on an expense account this time. But $75 for kobe is relatively inexpensive to try it. I was at Joël Robuchon's in Vegas last April and his kobe was more than double. I have wanted to try it for a while so I did. It was worth it. The Crown and water made the decision a little easier for me too.

As a Californian, all I could remember about good fish places were the Friday Fish Frys at numerous halls/churches. I can't fathom Milwaukee as a hub of fine seafood dining...even the sushi sucked butt while I was there.

Benihana's on Monday - Wednesday has a terrific sushi special. $25 ($30 inc. tax + tip). all you can eat sushi. it is really good and the menu is extensive. But nothing will compare to what you can get either of the east coast or the second coast.
