Since today officially marks the beginning of the off season, I think it's a perfect day to thank the numbers crunchers who worked hard and long at providing us with stats and data driven analyses. Brew, TAMU and Tower are the first names that come to my mind as well as the writers for Anonymous Eagle and Cracked Sidewalks.

Please add some more names here.

Good call. Their effort truly adds a great deal to understanding and enjoying MU hoops. Always interesting to see if the numbers support what I think I'm seeing in terms of what's working and what isn't. Big thank you to all of them!

Andrei at Paint Touches and Andy at AE do fantastic work. Also a big fan of the (relatively) new Golden Breakdown podcast with Adam Woke. For a few more specific names, Tim Blair and Rob Lowe at Cracked Sidewalks, as well as Joe McCann and Phil Bush from the Scrambled Eggs podcast. Also Ben Snider and Patrick Leary on the Anonymous Eagle podcast.

I'd like to thank Keefe.  After the head of our HR department and I shared a laugh over his email alerting them that I was spending time on the internet during working hours, they gave me a promotion a couple months later!

Thanks keefer!

Seriously though - thanks to all the content providers. You guys do incredible work.

I've only ever listened to the scrambled eggs podcast. Which of the 3 listed is the best?

I like stats, facts and analysis over opinion and punditry

The OP is right on.  Many thanks to all of you who add so much in terms of stats, analysis and in depth looks at so many different things.  I love MU basketball but don't know anywhere near what many of you do and really enjoy learning more.

I strongly recommend the Golden Breakdown. Adam does a great job of breaking down the numbers and explaining them in a way that makes sense. I feel like I learn something every time I listen to his show. He's also had a good run of guests, from Ben Steele to Travis Diener to Nevada Smith to Tyler Kolek.

A job well done the folks providing data on a daily or weekly basis. I add Herman to the list with the BE ranking thread. Thanks, guys.

Meh. Just another Woke podcaster!

Seriously, thanks to all who already have been mentioned. Also, to Mr. Nielsen for the broadcast info all season - very much appreciated.

Great post. Thanks to everyone who collects articles, the mods, the stat crunchers, etc. who add to my understanding of MU bball.

The coverage of our team this year has been good. Ben Steele has been up there with Todd Rosiak from the Journal/Sentinel.

The statistics that matter

1) We were 19-13 this year. We were projected to be a disaster area and fight DePaul for the basement. Instead, we made the tournament. Room for improvement but not bad given the instant rebuild job Shaka had this year.

2) Number of assists per game -- The more assists, the more we are likely to win. Means we're not playing hero ball and our guys know each other. Based on the last half dozen games of the season, we have work to do.

3) NCAA wins -- 0. Enough said. THIS HAS TO CHANGE!!!!!!

4 Rebounds per game -- Whatever the number was it needs improvement.

I'm thankful for this kind of hard hitting statistical analysis.
