Why in the world would UNC call a time-out there?

Maybe to reinforce the defensive strategy on a make or miss. Can't call a timeout after the free throw to talk to your guys if he misses.

But I wouldn't have called a TO either.

Hah, after all the arena entrance theater, that would be appropriate.

They did show him leaving on a golf cart.

Saw that.  Appropriate I guess (he didn't ask for any of the media attention - that I saw).  In his postgame interview, he really wanted to defer any questions about himself.  Kudos to him for keeping it about his players.

Did you watch his postgame interview?

No.  Did he accuse Love of showboating like he did Dillon Brooks?

Makes it about the kids when he loses and all about himself when he wins. Im going to miss him.

I don't watch much coach K. This postgame, under pressure for him, was not an embarrassment.

Agreed. I have never been a fan, but he was very gracious in the interview. Still glad he is gone though.

Same, but he did spare us from having to live through a UW title. Will always be grateful for that.

It's crazy that Duke is giving the keys to their program to someone who has never coached before. Heck, that would have been Wojo if he just stayed there and didn't expose himself as being incompetent. That said, Duke has an insane class coming in (#1, #3, #5, #13, #60, #167), so it should be interesting. Glad K went out with an L.

The Jon Scheyer hire is really funny to me because the guy is legitimately dumb, like could barely pass high school even with a bunch of tutors stupid. If he didn't have basketball, who knows where he would be right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if he broke a recruiting violation, not even purposely, but because he literally just did not know the rules.

I'll be interesting, there are certainly occasions where jocks can become good leaders.  Time will tell on this one.

No kidding. Nine of the greatest minutes of college basketball ever played. Special shout-out to Grayson Allen.

Did anyone catch the huge illegal screen that sprung Love for the 3 pointer with 24 seconds to play? it is textbook "here is what an illegal screen is" - #1 runs into the guy who is guarding Love, hits him in the shoulder with only one foot on the floor, knocks the Duke guy back, giving Love room to make the 3. If you don't call that moving pick than there is no such thing as a pick.

Looks pretty legal to me on the slow motion zoom in view at the end. His feet are square and very much planted. He loses his balance when the screen hits, and that's when his foot leaves the ground.

Games like this are the reason it's better for teams like Saint Peter's to get knocked off before the Final Four.  What a terrific, high level game that was and will hopefully be another good one on Monday.
Why not get rid of the riffraff right away and make the invited field 32? Or 16?

brewcity77

Great game last night. I was mildly rooting for Duke for Theo and because I thought K losing in the final was the more delicious result, but it was just great entertainment.

The first game, obviously less so. Thinking Kansas will be the hot knife on Monday and Carolina will be the butter, but I've been wrong plenty this tournament.

16! Ah the good old days. If it went to 16, MU would never get in, given the state of our mid major status. Would have to somehow find Al to compete in that environment. Too bad it was not that simple eh?

I watched the post game interview.  It was good.

But did you watch this sh*t pre-game?  A complete cringe worthy ego stroke, and entirely consistent with this final year.  And I hope the era of the "CEO coach" goes with him.

Wait? So that was K's last game? I wish somebody would have mentioned that.
