This appears to be a complete mismatch.

South Carolina beat UCONN 73-57 in a November game in a tourament.  They were actually supposed to play in a regular season game also but South Carolina canceled that so they could fit in a make-up SEC game.

UCONN made a bit of a run in the 2nd quarter and South Carolina is up 35-27 at the half. I won't rule out UCONN yet.

South Carolina appears to be close to running away with this.  UCONN scored 4 points in the first 5 minutes of the third quarter.

As usual I’m wrong 😀.  UCONN just went on a 10-0 run.

I was wrong too!  But they still have a lot of work to do.

9 point SC lead heading to the 4th quarter.  I should have conference loyalty to UCONN but I find myself rooting for South Carolina.

Game over.  South Carolina has 20 offensive rebs.  Hard to lose with that dominating stat.

If I'm not mistaken I think I heard someone on ESPN talking about the salaries of the benches of women's teams vs men's teams beating unequitable in college basketball. Maybe I'm hallucinating?  She can't be serious cam she?

CEO pay up 19% to a record $14.2 Million. Worker pay increased 1% or less than corporate greed inflation. Corporations with highest profits since 1950.

Women’s pay is significant double digit percentages lower than Men. The United States Department of Labor recently said that UConn had underpaid several Women’s sports coaches in multiple sports, including, but not limited to basketball.

But yes, let’s complain about Women’s Basketball Coaches making money.

Great accomplishment for South Carolina and their program. Fun team.

I agree.  I really like Dawn Staley also.  They bring back a lot next season too - they may have a chance to repeat.

Incredible stat for Geno that he is now 11-1 in national championship games.

If all the P6 D1 Coaches in football/basketball transitioned the "women" coaches would not dare to complain about equal pay. It's the crazy world we live in today, no?.

From The Athletic:

The women’s NCAA title game Sunday averaged 4.85 million viewers, with a peak of 5.91 million, according to Nielsen numbers.

It’s the highest overall viewership average for a women’s title game since 2004, and represented a boost from last year’s 4.08 million viewers. It’s also an encouraging trend back to normalcy from the ratings crater of 2020.

Butler finally hired a new coach - Austin Parkinson who had been the head coach at IUPUI so he doesn’t even necessarily  have to move since he’s staying in Indianapolis.  https://twitter.com/butlerathletics/status/1512447674754035716?s=21&t=9JbiymAcoU5nJeiQkRUvug

He’s never really had to leave the state, as a prep player, college (Purdue), assistant and HC at IUPUI. Turned them around quickly, and then 5 WNIT’s, before winning the past 2 Horizon League Conference Tourneys in 12 seasons. Good season this year, a win over Iowa etc…

We’ll see.

I felt bad for IUPUI in 2020 - they won their conference tournament before everything shut down and were poised to make their first ever NCAA tournament appearance and of course that got canceled.  I wasn't sure who they would hire but it seems like a somewhat promising hire.  I really want to see Butler improve.

MU alum Natasha Heideman is a solid contributor for a Connecticut Sun team that just advanced to the WNBA semis, where they’ll face the defending champion Chicago Sky.

It's been great to see her shine this year after she moved into the starting lineup due to an injury.  And I enjoyed seeing her play in person in the WNBA for the first time a few weeks ago in Chicago.  There's been some talk of her being a good candidate for the most improved player award (I don't think they've announced the winner of that yet).

Go Sun!
