The first batch of conference championships came and went without a bid thief. This week we have more than double the realistic candidates. Cracked Sidewalks breaks down the likeliest bid thieves between now and Selection Sunday, as well as the new S-Curve as the bubble comes into focus.

Looks tough to get to the 6 line - probably need to win it all?

I think a 7 is still attainable. If we get to the Final, I'll be giving that a long look. But I imagine by Saturday, the seed list will be pretty much set, with any contingencies based around the top-4 seed lines and bid thieves.

I've been wrong often enough in the past that I wouldn't rule it out, but there's a big metric gap between teams like Ohio State and Seton Hall and us, and big metric swings don't tend to happen this late in the calendar. Getting to the final would probably move us up to the 7, but I think that's the ceiling.

One win gives us a chance for a 7 with enough help and a loss locks us into the 8/9?

I'm on the "if we beat creighton we lock up a back 7, front 8. Beat the dence and lock up a 7 spot" bandwagon.

Then again I know 1/100th of what brew knows about this. Sooo

True. I had them as an NIT team without a sniff of the bubble.

But I still don't wanna be an 8-9 please.

Of course I'd rather us be a 7 than an 8 ... but it also would be very satisfying to knock off a 1.

I mean we'll probably have to knock off at least one to win the Natty.

I wouldn't mind an 8-seed playing into Baylor. Short roster, short rest, and if you get that, it theoretically only gets easier until the Final Four.

Of the years to be an 8 or 9, this would be up there.  The ones are a lot more beatable than most years.

Agreed, either way we are hoping for a lucky draw but I'd love to play Boise St. in the 8/9 with the winner getting Baylor.
