Congrats to this young Warriors team.  We're in perfect position to make a run in the BET and elevate our seed.  It wasn't all that pretty but a W is a W.

Stone cold lock. Been waiting for this one.

I'm one of the ones that was of the belief that we already were a lock.

But really damn glad we dont have to test that theory with Gtown Wednesday.

Brew we need to get off that 8/9 line but I really think the pressure is off now.  We are very capable of playing at a higher level like we saw in January and at home vs Nova.

We gotta do what I think we are capable of and win the first two at the Garden imo.

I don't understand all the frustration here, a 4 point favorite, won by 8. Marquette was in control most of the game.

Big East tourney is next.

LETS GOOOOO!!!

Step 1 to getting our program back.  Awesome stuff.  Let's have a March to remember!
VIOLENCE!

I love the fact that this game mattered so much. Yeah, I absolutely want to win some games in the BET and NCAA but regardless of what happens the rest of the way I'm thrilled with this season.

PointWarrior

Saved their NCAA tourney ass's tonight.

Great win.... And a solid season.    I did not expect 19-11 and top half of BEast.   Congrats to all

It's the self-inflicted mistakes that drive me up the wall.  We had numerous chances to drop the hammer early in the 2nd half.  I also think many scoopers were frustrated with our matador transition defense.  This team has the pieces but we have to play with more intelligence and poise imo.

Agreed here.

Some sloppy passing but StJ turns a lot of teams over, the pace alone will do some of that.

It seemed like MU led by about 6 almost the entire game.

I was pretty happy with how they came out tonight and kept answering runs after that debacle in Chicago.

Lets carry it to the concrete jungle where dreams are made of

I think its all the unforced errors and stupid mistakes this team makes.  Hell we couldn't even get a shot clock violation at the end of the game and gave St Johns an extra 16 seconds.  We are simply not a smart offensive team and they put way too much pressure on themselves.  They should have won by 20 plus tonight but they would constantly gift them the ball.

My frustration is simply that.  If we play smart most nights we can beat almost anyone.  But we don't usually play smart.

where is the freak who said hed be shocked to see a win tonight. freakin clown

We should have won by 20???

St Johns lost 2 big east games by more than 10 all year.
I don't think winning by 20 was happening for us or most any other BEast teams.

How can anyone be shocked by a home conference win?  That's peculiar!

It's weirdly nice to be slightly disappointed with 11 wins in the Big East. Could have been more but this team has exceeded lots of people's preseason expectations. Still work to do but I'm excited to see what happens.

Yep. These kind of takes are bizarre.

A little hyperbole but there were multiple unforced turnovers by MU and easy transition baskets by St. John's especially after MU made threes that accounted for at least 10 -15 points.

Look I'm glad we won.  But we are as undisciplined a team as they come, lately.  We make things harder on ourselves than they have to be.

Go Marquette!

MuggsyB

Keep in mind that even if we get an 8 or 9, we are capable of inflicting damage.  This is a Warriors team that beat Nova twice and bludgeoned Providence by 30.  There's no question we need TK to play far better than we have seen the last month but with today's parity you just never know.  My hope is we get at least a 7, but a 6 seed would be ideal.  Despite our flaws, tonight was a superb evening for the Warriors and a confidence booster.

Elonsmusk

Wonder if Creighton might find themselves on the bubble after we beat them on Thursday?  67 in KenPom.

Muggsy-

My biggest hope/confidence for this years NCAA big dance is that MU will face a team that it hasn't seen before and hasn't been able to scout Marquettes effective pick and roll scheme with TyKo and the bigs.

The biggest downfall of the last month was BE teams adjusting and stopping MU on the pick and roll and dive to the hoop by the bigs. Tyler had been completely bottled up because of it, and the offense has had to create- mainly Justin in multiple ways and Darryl, with that sweet mid range pull up J.

Draw is Sunday, team has 3 days to scout and prep.
MU hasn't showed that offensive prowess in a month so the scout team will have to use the nova wins or other bigs wins and completely gameplan against MUs pick and roll.

I don't think our opposition will be successful.
If MU comes out and gets a few of those earlier in the season patented TyKo to the big for a layup/dunk or TyKo to the corner pass for 3 Marquette will win that first game.
Book it on March 17 if that happens in the first 5 minutes

Boston Warrior

I am still skeptical of Marquette's seed, net rank 36, Ken Pom 40. That would imply 9 or 10. Yes q 1 and 2 have a lot of wins but a lot of losses. I do hope for a couple of wins in bet and a good draw in the ncaa tourney.

Do NCAA teams often not scout their opponents?  I hope we play one of those!
