This team will learn  to blow out the opponent and I wanted that badly. Remember we are still in first gear of the Shaka era. Time to focus on Saturday.

Goose

They fly home it might be a postponed game Saturday. I want to keep things rolling.

Why???

Im all for SJU not getting rescheduled, doesnt help us.

But at Providence??? A win helps way more than a Q1 road loss hurts. Thats a game we want. And if we win, it gives us a clear tiebreaker on one of the few teams currently ahead of us while also closing the record gap

++ 7 Deadly Wins!

++ The first half was ridiculously fun. We totally dictated the play on both ends of the court, and Hall had no answers.

++ That's a Big East POY kinda game for Mr. Justin Lewis. 3's, drives, pull-ups, pump-fake reposition J's, fastbreak dunks, excellent decisions/passes to set up Kam's 3s, tough rebounds. When Hall made their run early in the second half, Justin said, "Not on my watch." Fantastic. Lewis is shooting .486 from 3 during the winning streak; before that, he was at .258. When JL is a 3-point threat, that's the stuff of NBA draft picks.

++ When Kuath is dialed in on D like that, it makes us almost impossible to score against. That opening 5-6 minutes was as dominant a defensive performance as a big can have. I'm not sure I've ever seen a 5 better at getting out to hedge, scrambling back contesting shots. Committed a few silly fouls, but that's really picking nits.

++ We definitely took the air out of the ball too early and lost our momentum. That, combined with MU not taking care of the basketball, let Hall back into the game. Just keep playing ball, guys!

++ Two huge 3s by Kam to help us restore control. What a sweet shot he has. And Stevie came in to play some D and do a nice job handling the rock.

++ Not Kolek's best game and yet he still had 7 reb, 5 assist and 3 steals. That's contributing even when struggling some.

++ Shaka made what couldn't have been an easy decision, but one that was absolutely necessary, when he benched Morsell down the stretch. Daryll had been playing so well for us the last few games, but this was a real clunker for him. The missed shots you live with, but he was just handing the ball to SH. It happens. Even good players have bad games. Shaka also used his time-outs very well to stop Hall rallies.

++ Nice to see O-Max contribute on the offensive end. I wasn't thrilled at first that he went to the basket for his last attempt, but it turned out OK!

++ I really hope we play at Providence. Will be another great road win -- and another win as an underdog, of course -- and it will be good for our tourney seeding.

++ I might have to find a way to get to Milwaukee for the Nova game -- Goose is buying!

This team is on such a roll I'm actually not even worried about losing on Saturday and Providence is 17-2, 12-1 in their last 13 with the 32 point loss in Milwaukee as the only blemish.

I actually think Marquette just has the better players and the better team.

Not sure what this feeling is or where it's come from but please don't wake me up.

I'm focused Solely on the top 25. Seven lost team won't be ranked.

If Marquette loses to Providence they will still be ranked on Monday.

Being ranked is nice

Gonna disagree here. I love how our roster matches up with them. I also think they are fools gold at the moment with that record.

Bring em on

Yea, no real downside there. Lose a Q1 game on the road? No biggie.

They've had a lot of really tough games cancelled.

Agree completely Doctor V.  Not worried about Providence.  We're better and it's one win closer to winning the Big East title.

I'm not sure where this goes, but was perusing Twitter and Louisville fans are already throwing around Shaka's name as Mack's replacement.

What an absolutely delusional fan base.

This is a prime opportunity to really have any shot at the Big East Title.  You want the opportunity to beat a team and put yourself in the position to win.  It is not cool waiting to see if 2-3 other teams can knock them off.

He totally ripped that off from me! Thursday's were the best, though only a little behind Sundays. And Tuesdays. And the other days that end in y's.

Maybe they've heard he's miserable in Milwaukee 🧐🥸

Was also nice to get a win with their second and third leading scorers doing absolutely nothing.

Thursday's at the Ardmore. I could see how crowded it was looking out my window freshman year (703 McCormick, 84-85
) to help me decide if/when I should head over there. I almost always did first semester. Learned to cut back (just a bit) for second semester.

I mentioned in the Superbar NCAA Hoops Thread a couple days ago that their fanbase was going to be coming after Shaka.

It hasn't been as strong so far as I thought.

Porky thought so too but after beating X tonight, they could be the real deal.  Seems odd that they would fly back for one day.  If they do, the Providence game will almost certainly be postponed unless they fly out no later than noon on Friday.  Porky resides on the east coast only a two hour drive west of Providence and we're supposed to get absolutely pummeled this weekend.
