Memorabilia
« on: January 12, 2022, 08:12:25 PM »
I’d like to start a game here. I think it would be fun. Drag out your stuff. Ya gotta have some stuff you want to show off (I hope it’s old stuff)– so take a picture and post it. I’m going to dribble my crap out. I expect to see some great and cherished items from you guys. OK? Show me a Deiner bobble-head over your mantel.  Or a stinky work out jersey you think Otule wore. I’m hoping you don’t have one of his fake eyeballs. That would be a winner for sure.  It was his left eye. Join the deal here, it’s an opportunity to share what you have next to your wife’s ceramic pig collection. We won’t have a winner and there won’t be any prizes, but I imagine it will be enjoyable. Katie Holmes. What a good place to start. I know, that’s cheap. But my old girl friend is a fan, for sure.

I'm confused, are you implying you have Katie Holmes as Marquette memorabilia or you have her Marquette shirt? Either way I'm intrigued by how you know Katie Holmes

I've never met the girl. I'm sure her dad would have thrown me over a building if I came near her. I'm joking and having fun with the Katie Holmes picture. Her dad played bb for Marquette when he was a freshman and left the team the next year.  I think he wanted to concentrate on Business School. It worked out alright, from what I can see. MU fans everywhere.

Those should absolutely be brought back into MU’s uniform rotation. Best jerseys in MU’s illustrious history of uniforms.

Yep. They are. That guy must be a close relative of Greg Stack, who was a team manager during the last seasons of the McGuire era. I went to MU from 1973 to 1977 & was an acquaintance through friends.

In my four years, two final fours, two national championship games, and one national championship. The class of '77 was born at just the right time!

I guess I should apologize. It was a good idea, but then I realized I'm in over my head. I try to send pictures buy I get this message. Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow. And I can see when I take a pic with my iphone and send it to my desk top the pick is a little over 2MGs. I know there's an app for that. Compress Photos. Geez, I didn't think it would be this difficult. I guess I'll have to call a friend to help me.

Yeah...me too. Unless, of course, you're a big DWade fan. In that case, it's a piece of the net from the 2003 Midwest Regional Final. And if you're a fan of Cleveland Girls CYO basketball, it's from the 2013 8th Grade final. That little chunk of net is whatever you want it to be. Name your price.

I've wondered whether the Willie Wampum costume exists.  I imagine it to be stored in some Rabbits basement.  Only brought to sunlight every March 28th.

It's at the library.  I've gone to see it before.

I don't remember if we made an appointment or not but you can request to see it (and other old mascot costumes) and they will bring it into a room for you to look at.

Here is a varsity sweater from 1966.  My old man and I were on line selling a bunch of baseball cards and random bobble heads when we came across this one from the early McGuire era.  The seller included a really cool history along with it.

Not nearly as cool as some of the other stuff here, but my favorite t-shirt has long been a gold 23 Matthews jersey T that I bought from the spirit shop more than 5 but less than 10 years ago.  Idk how that got made or if it was an oops because it was long before NIL, but I hadn't seen any others around.

https://youtu.be/d4ntRWbqOhM

I camped out overnight for the Louisville game, what a lifetime memory despite the outcome.

Solid video but strange that it skips over Kentucky E8 game in Minneapolis, his best game in college.

That video reminded me of how beautiful Wades use of the glass was at Marquette, just a sight to see

I have a signed Jae Crowder & Vander Blue T-shirt that I won from a contest that Painttouches ran a while back. Other than that, I love my signed D-Wade book from his book signing at MU years ago.

Signed Travis Diener jersey is at the top of my list (to frame)...I grew up in Fond du Lac and he is the reason I am a MU fan today.

I have a sweatshirt from the late 60's that has more holes than a slice of Swiss cheese. It doesn't fit. It really shrunk a lot!
