VIOLENCE!

We R Final Four

Osa + Kur tandem is awesome.
The games we have seen with the two them playing as Shaka wants......least of our concerns.
Nate Watson is sitting in the locker room asking himself wtf just happened.

UPDATE:

Following last night Oso is now 43-54 from the field (79.6%)!!!!.

He is 14-19 from the FT Line (73.7%).

He has 14 Assists to 11 Turnovers.

Up to 4th on the team in scoring and 2nd on the team in rebounding.
VIOLENCE!

Oso is #1 in the Big East in adjusted offensive efficiency through 4 games. He is #1 in the nation in 2PFG%. Not too bad for a guy who didn't even crack 40 total minutes last season.

MU posted a video during the preseason that was something like 15 dunks in 15 seconds.    It was fun to watch.    I understand it better now.    Everybody who has an opportunity to dunk does so.     Everybody is attempting to finish strong.    Last night, OMP missed a dunk, but it came to Osa who dunked it.    This mindset, this culture change, is why I am optimistic about the future.

I hope you are a fan of dunks because you will be seeing a lot of them over the Shaka era at MU.

Goose, I just flat out said that I like it and the mindset and culture it represents.

100%.  Mentioned in another thread I can't recall another big at MU that was as bouncy/fast off the floor as Oso.  It's one thing to have a good vertical, but it's an entirely different thing when an athlete is so fast off the floor.  We heard in the pre-season that Keeyan Itejere is a freak athlete, and I'll guess he will also prove to have a great vertical AND be fast off the floor.

We've lacked this kind of athleticism in the program since Buzz left, and quite frankly, I'm not sure that any of the guys on the Buzz teams had the athleticism Oso has.  DJO and Jimmy were very good athletes/bouncy, but Oso is a freak.

Osa + Kur tandem is awesome.

I think this keeps proving more and more true.  Kur is great, but in that "athletic big man with a limited offensive game" sort of way, he has a tendency to create lots of spacing on the offensive end - partially because he's so often used to screen and partially because he's selling out on the boards.  Oso has proven really opportunistic with that space and is really starting to anticipate it well.

My favorite video from the preseason practices was when Oso layed a ball in and Shaka stopped the drill and told Oso to go dunk the damn ball instead.  Shaka created a monster.

Two really fun dunks last night.

His dunks are FUN. I love the two handed, arch his whole body, every bit of energy into the hoop dunks. He's definitely flourishing under Shaka's system.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Agree said Oso would be awesome coming out of High School. Oso is looking very awesome. Shaka coaching bigs helps.

Yes!  I can remember a young Jim McIlvane having the same tendency.  These young big guys will want to throw up these bunny shots that will bounce around and out instead of just dunking it.  Always drove me crazy.

Oso appears to have exceptional hands, instinct for the rim and hops.

His teammates consistently said that he was a freakish leaper.    If he is using this red-shirt year to get stronger and improve his skills, he could be a contributor next year.

I like the 35 second mark when they show the MUScooper on his team.

And how many red shirt players have been anointed out of this world? Im gonna temper expectations
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

You aren't wrong.   But I also am not going to assume he sucks.

If you consider last year a redshirt year for Oso...

I really hope Itejere is joined at Oso's hip copying everything he does during this off year

Moves without the ball very well and is a solid passer too. I hope he's the prototype of program bigs under Shaka. Would be nice to have a pipeline of Osos! (not like they grow on trees though...)

Akanno was supposed to be a savior. Nobody had seen a player like Jamil Wilson since D Wade. These are rough quotes from articles and posters who got to go to practices.

Genuinely hope the kids decent enough to be impactful in two years.

Oso and Keeyan are extremely thin and barely go over 200lbs.

After watching Nova last night, their players, such as Dixon, Samuels, Slater and even Moore, are built like linebackers.  I hope the MU training staff can get some substantial muscle on those two.
