Congratulations to coach Shaka Smart in his first, of hopefully many, Big East win.

The 32 point win over #16 Providence is the largest margin of victory over a ranked team in school history.

What a night for Shaka and Marquette.

That's pretty incredible when you think of the legacy of this program.  Also, does anyone know if Providence beat Wisconsin earlier this year in Madison?  Teams evolve.  We are/were so inexperienced playing our first road game at Wisconsin.

Davis was out vs PC. its that simple. Davis is a top 5 player this year.

True.  Just saw he put up 37 at Purdue.  Guy is silky smooth and skilled.  Probably a lottery pick.

Anybody know if this was the largest margin of victory of a last place Big East team over a first place Big East team? Feels like it has to be.

Meh... perhaps if you qualify that with a minumum number of games played.  Wouldn't surprise me at all to see a 0-0 or 0-1 (last place) team trouncing someone 1-0 (first place).

Might have been. The Marquette record for largest margin of victory in a Big East game was 34 when they beat Cincy 84-50 on January 4, 2009. When we were up 88-51 with 2 minutes to play, I thought we might break that. No such luck.
