Like last game in which they scored two points in final three minutes

Tonight 5 points (including Johnson bomb three) in final six minutes.  Terrible. Shaka has to clean that up.  The miss dunk just popped the balloon mentally I believe.

RJ Cole ate Kolek and Elliott for lunch.

Lewis so much better when playing in paint.  Big game inside tonight. But in order to make the NBA, he must show some sort of outside shooting to impress.  Still not going good, believe 1 for last 18 from three.

Layups missed: Prosper 2, Kolek 3, Lewis 3, Kuath 1, Jones 1, Elliott 1.  Layups, not blocked shots, all hit rim.
Two front end free throw misses.  Uconn was clutch.

Ceiling? Probably.  They beat Illinois in last few seconds without their best player, who now is averaging 24 and 10.       Beat Miss, who got beat on their home court tonight by Samford.

I'm sticking with 6 BE wins.  Process........

I hope the 5ft10 PG recruit Jones is good.  Mitchell and Ellis might see one minute a game from now on.

Lewis needs at least 20 touches in the post per game. He was fearless against bigger, longer guys. We went away from that down the stretch.

Really likes what O-Max and Joplin brought tonight.

Hurley made a nice adjustment, started running a second big at Lewis every time he tried to post up down the stretch. He had to pass every time, or couldn't get the ball in the first place. That's when, if you have a scoring PG, you can make some hay. Or if you've got a couple good 3-point shooters. Of course, it would be nice if your big can make a wide-open dunk.

Agree about O-Max and Joplin.

Otherwise (not saying you), a lot of effen mopes in this thread.

Yep.  I’d stop watching if I were you.  Midnight madness around the corner.
I will root for them.  It is my team.
Your post just makes me smile.
And if I want to put out a comment or opinion I will.
Maybe you are the one that needs a hug.

Give up.  This team is terrible.

better than the team predicted to score in the 50's frequently apparently?
I said there would be games where MU scores in the 50's due to their youth and a lack of proven scorer.   There has been two games.   No one anywhere ever predicted 'frequently. '

I'm not worried one iota about the ceiling for this year's team.

I'm thinking about the ceiling of our program, and I believe it's very high.

This, Hurley decided to let someone else beat them and doubled Lewis. No one else was able to really take over.

Villanova has scored in the 50s once and in the 30s once. What’s their excuse?

Using 20/20 hindsight, the proper question to ask might be: "What took Hurley so long?"

Villanova has scored in the 50s once and in the 30s once. What’s their excuse?

They’re 345th in tempo and 47% of their shots come from 3.  When they ain’t making 3’s and with limited possessions, they’re going to have some terrible offensive outputs.  Plus, they’re just not as talented as previous Wildcat teams

What ever happened to the "I don't care if they win as long as they grow through the season" crowd?  There are 20 conference games if they all get played. so far there have been two, you people have to lighten up a little.  This team shows growth and identity.  Don't judge harshly so soon.  The key to this season is Butler, De Paul  and Georgetown. If they can go 5-1 and steal a couple of games they are fine.  I thought Pros[per had a breakout game ,if he remembers how hard and well he played he could yet thrive this season.  The same for Joplin if he continues to improve MU is solid.  Kolek grew his game as well by driving to the basket instead of passing on every drive. I would suggest holding judgement until after the 5th game at least.

Like to stay optimistic but man.
Missed uncontested open dunk by a guy 6-10.
Brick open 6-footer.
Just being negative for no reason. We battled and played very well against one of the top teams in the nation.
