Santa Clara's Steve Nash Makes NBA Top 75 - Deane Said Not 1st Round Pick

Santa Clara's Steve Nash made the NBA's Top 75 list after a stellar career winning two MVP's. Brought to mind Marquette coach Mike Deane's quote about Nash after Marquette played Santa Clara. I remember Deane's quote  as "If he's a first round pick then I'm declaring for the draft." Anyone else remember this?

Deane clearly wasn't the best judge of talent, however, I will say, Marquette obliterated a ranked Santa Clara team and Nash did absolutely nothing that night.  He came back to school for that final year cause he wasn't gonna be a first round pick and a few games into the year, that happened.  Hindsight is 20/20, but still
