The T-Shirt gun is already back.

Yes.  I saw it used at the SIUE game.

Toilet paper is a luxury these days.   Maybe throw empty starbucks cups on the floor after the first made basket.

Did they storm the court ever in the 70’s?  I didn’t know they had shoes back then

In order to storm the court they had to walk uphill, barefoot over glass in two feet of snow all the while simultaneously partying harder and bedding more beautiful people.

It was the best of times and the worst of times.  No wonder Archie Bunker was always singing “Those Were The Days” and pining for a time before the 70’s.

That was also Wells Street.

Good start, team came out in the middle of the Pray video.

Despite that, crowd has been great since the 6-0 run to take the first lead at 8-7. Feels like a big game atmosphere.

Crowd seemed spotty via seats. But very loud.

Man. I don't know what the rest of Fiserv needs to see, but they didn't get off their asses until the very end. Students were phenomenal.

This team fights like hell. Get the fook behind them!

Brother Rico:

We never stormed the court because we EXPECTED victory. We stormed Wisconsin Avenue in the rain in the dark after winning a natty.

Storming a court would seem trivial.

Tonight was the first step in getting there again.

In the 1970s, we spent virtually the entire decade ranked in the top 20 AP and UPI; most of the time in the top 10 in both polls; and often the top 5 for weeks or the entire season.

There was no need to storm any courts. The entire country knew how good M U was.

Just saying, I'm up to 9-0 when I attend games at the Fiserv.

Wasn't  Meminger 46-0 at the Arena?

Brother Muta:

We rarely lost anywhere. Losing at home was unthinkable. The losses at home in 1977 were downright unnerving, which is why the Natty was so special.

Walking out of FF last night reminded me of walking out the BC in December of '89. It was KO's first year and he had a chip on his shoulder and was hell bent on building a program and making himself a star. We played ND on a Saturday afternoon and beat them and the following Saturday we hosted Michigan and the place was electric. We lost that day, but there was not one person walking out that did not think KO was different and the program was in good hands. Last night showed to me that folks can go from apathic about a program to big time fans quickly. The MU basketball program is in great hands and I could not be happier about the future of the program.

Fortunately Shaka is far more advanced as a coach and an even better recruiter than KO and we will not be waiting five years to make the S16. No one can deny KO was a miracle worker and he delivered the goods for our program. The bar for the program starts with Shaka, IMO, and the guy is the real deal. Last night was the first of many, many great nights at the FF moving forward.

This was not a Wojo coached or recruited team for sure. We have lots of holes yet to address but now feel they WILL be addressed by Smart and the staff and more importantly, the players.
This is going to be an exciting bunch if we improve on some obvious deficiencies but there is a decided upside that was seen last night that I've not seen for quite a while.
