When you look like Matt Foley I guess you've got to own it.

Also, good loose interview.
Beat me to it. Dead ringer

Shooter McGavin

Great interview.  Great personality.  Seems like a great guy.  Hopefully we have some success on the court and he's here for the next 20 years.

So you've got Matt Foley on the right and Abed Nadir in the middle. MU representing!

I'm hoping for / expecting better then
9th place.  That would be a failure.

SS assembled a decent/ good roster.
It's young, but still has 3 Sr.s   I think
middle of the pack 5th 6th 7th is reasonable

Galway Eagle

Seems weird he didn't take Elliott with. Does that imply Elliott is gonna be around next year or at least still playing CBB?
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Shaka said he took the guys with no eligibility left after this season.

The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Elliott was announced as a Junior at Marquette madness.

Noticed that as well. Forgot about it but did notice

not like the players are gonna say the team is bad

Can you imagine the senior leader that transferred here "yeah you know this is a rebuilding year, hopefully we can compete with the likes of UCONN and Nova"

"we think there's a semi-decent chance to win some games against DePaul and Georgetown this year, maybe some mid-majors too"

jfp61

This team doesnt need to be a "rebuilding team" it is just going to take alot of players to hit the ground running off transfers, which is just something that typically doesnt happen

My favorite morsel from Morsell:  "I been around a lot of good teams and this team is going to be good."

He played for Mark Turgeon.  He's probably in shock from playing for a good coach

Correct, but they also wouldn't come out and say what Morsell said either. We'll be a middle of the pack BE team and should challenge for an NCAA bid.

Bam.  It's quite possible he envisions a team capable of inflicting damage and kaboom wins.

rocky_warrior

Shaka also said Darryl is not yet in game shape after his shoulder surgery, and is only playing the "good" defense you'd expect him to about 1/2 the time.

OTOH, can you image a major all-conference player on a Top 20 returning team transferring to a rebuilding team with no chance of winning?  Me thinks he believes.

I mean depends on what he was promised and feedback given by NBA scouts but overall I see your point.

These rankings were made by the BE coaches,  not sports writers. They probably know something about basketball

Coaches polls and writers polls (both preseason and in season) pretty much mirror one another.

I don't think that contradicts my assertion that BE coaches probably know something about basketball
