Best Mob film?

I'm gonna go with G-1..... but maybe Scoopers think Goodfellas or another option?  I have never understood why some people think Carlo shouldn't have been whacked?  I vehemently disagree.

I'm with you FBM.  And I assume you are a Clemenza fan and had no issues with him overseeing/whacking Paulie and Carlo?  We also can't forget "Enzo the Baker".  He played a key role with regards to Sollozzo and McCluskey.

Two tremendous scenes!  Virgil Sollozzo did not anticipate the ultimate result of Michael taking a leak.

I always viewed Godfather as kind of the "lace curtain" story of the Mob, whereas Goodfellas was the more blue collar version------closer to the street, rawer. More violence.

I think that's fair but these are two separate and distinct stories.  We all know you have a little Pesci in you when you get upset.

Was waiting for someone to say this.  Its aged remarkably well and its got a couple incredible performances from heavy hitters.  Love that movie.  The scene in the train station with Costner, Andy Garcia, and the baby carriage is all time.

I'd say no.  Crime/organized crime, sure.  But not a mob film.
