It was a long and winding road that brought DeAndre Haynes to Marquette, but his ability to build relationships makes him the perfect person at the perfect time for this job.

Tums Festival

Very good article. I have high hopes for Coach Haynes.

Morning bump. I was thinking this morning about how exciting the idea of DeAndre Haynes working with DJ Carton, Tyler Kolek, and this crew of young guards.

I'm sure it's a good hire..also guessing he won't be around long...probably says more that MU is willing to pay for top notch assistants and that they want to come here.

There has to be a ton of thought/strategy from a head coach perspective on who to hire as an assistant...young and hungry guys that are likely to be around for a few years, guys that won't be around long but bring experience and likely a player or two, an extremely experienced coach who won't hit the recruiting trail hard.
