Is havoc viable after the freedom of movement changes?

I made a point awhile ago that I didn't think it was. A bunch of people said I was wrong but then Shaka said that it was not.

I haven't seen anybody saying he's wrong. So I think that it's not viable in its original form.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

HAVOC as it was run in 2011 isn't viable.   SJU, FSU, Pitino all run pressure.    I used Havoc as a shorthand for pressure, both full court and in the half court.
Fearless and cheerful because it is so much fun.

This may be my 2008-2012 hard on... but was basketball just better overall then?

Yes.  It's been getting progressively worse but I put all of that on coaching.  Player development has taken a back seat to job security at the highest levels.

For MU, VCU, and a few others yes.

The reason the NCAA enacted Freedom of Movement was to increase the flow of the game to make it more exciting.  At the time, if I remember correctly, shooting percentages were going down across the NCAA.  NCAA didn't want a plethora of games where both teams shot below 40% aka Elite 8 game with Syracuse/MU.  It's not much different than how NBA is now as well.  Is it better now?  I'm not sure.   College basketball has changed a lot in last 10 years and will continue to do so with paying players, transfer portal, and other options becoming available.  It's going to have a lot of challenges but overall, I think MU actually has a chance to win a National Championship now as the playing field has been leveled somewhat with the Blue Bloods not being stocked with talent like they used to be.
