Thought the team played hard as hell, never gave up, shot well from beyond the arc....the missed bunnies really hurt, the free throw disparity just killed us.

McNeal's layup is the one that broke the camel's back.  Really hurt us in the end.

Thomas' Danish Delight

True....I mean damn, 'Rel shoulda' dunked that b!tch like an Oreo in a glass of milk.

At least we didn't get killed though.  This is the kinda loss that should give us forward momentum.  Great game despite the mental lapses

It's funny that when we get the outside shot going we can't score inside. What's that about? There are alot of positive things to take away from this loss. Hopefully Crean can spin this right, to the players, and we can finish the season strong.

Those last few minutes it looke dlike the team got its heart back. And Hawyard never lost his.

farmdaddy

I couldn't believe how quickly we erased that 10 point deficeit.  We actually played like we did at the beginning of the year.  Hayward was just money from three.

McNeal in general really hurt us. Aside from a bit of D at the end, he is bringing nothing to the party right now. If he was, we would have won. If Matthews doesn't try to make that pass to Blackledge, we might have won. If we miss 35 layups instead of 37, we probably would have won. The FT disparity points to the fact that we simply didn't do enough of what we do, but made enough long balls to stay in the game. In the end, it amounts to a qulaity loss, and probably an encouraging one for MU fans. ND was better early and made their FTs at the end. I'll say this though....We're better than they are.

Schoolyard

Great comeback at the end that has been missing in other road losses, such as Louisville and WV.  We weathered a lot of storms and played tough until the end.  I think some laziness early in the second half on 'd' hurt us when McAllarney made those threes.

What was up with the three that was given to ND when Ooze apparently knowcked it in.  I missed that play and it sounded like b.s.

My handle is Schoolyard but I do my best work at Finley Dunnes...Joe Kenny in '08

I'll say this too, they really seemed to be having fun at the end. Not sure if Crean was relaxed without the tie on or what, but those huddles toward the end of the game looked like an awfully loose and confident bunch. They need to keep that up along with the intensity down the stretch. A few layup drills probably wouldn't hurt either.

Jackson_Downer

Hayward looked fantastic and James showed a lot of heart, kind of what I was expecting all season.  But quite simply this team makes too many fundamental mistakes and shows why they can't hang with the big boys.  I'm still not convinced they can advance past the first round of the tourney but they still have a few games left to turn that around and get this thing moving in the right direction.

As much as I hate the whole moral victory thing... well, you know where I'm going with this.
"Nice helmet!"
"Actually, it's not a helmet, it's a hairmet.  You see, it's got extra room in it so you don't mess up your hairdo."
"I'm going to write you a prescription for two testicles, you get it filled whenever."

Nah, it was legit. He just caught his finger in the net while the ball was on the way in/in the cylinder

It wasn't BS. As Elmore explained well the net is part of the basket and when the ball is in cylinder and contact is considered interference. Barro mistimes his jumping nearly every possession and this one particularly hurt as the shot was short and it was a rare moment when MU actually had the rebound covered.

Without that 3, MU wins? Maybe. But we can say that about the McNeal blown lay-up. The 3 other Barro lay-ups. The Blackledge lay-in off the back of rim. Even Hayward missed a bunny.

chapman

This wasn't a terrible loss.  Much to be improved, with the missed layups and some open threes and allowing 86 points.  But a lot of positives to take away.  Better than getting killed and not havig anything go right.

Most definitely, it was an encouraging loss.  If ever there was a loss I was satisfied with, that was the one.  I mean, of course I'm disappointed, but I'm glad to see our guys playing with a fire lit under their @sses.

I hate to try to put something on the refs, because overall they called a pretty good game, but that ball was not inside the cylinder. It was well short, and Ooze only hit the net at almost the exact moment the ball hit the rim. Tough call.

I thought the refs sucked, though they certainly didn't cost us the game. They did, however, get the basket interference call right.

Anyone else think the term "bunnie" is a little past its prime. Chicos you are too young to use that term.

Homer and Mac should just interview you after each game. Sounding a lot like a coach. ;D
