Cain may have a shot to make the NCAA next year.

Yes aiming high is a generally speaking the preferred approach.

In this case, I think the specifics point to taking the tri-cycle approach. Jamal needs a season of skills improvement in order to make it to a foreign professional league, which is his goal. .

A) He is going to his home, playing for a Coach who has a 37 year track record of success, B)Oakland as a Horizon League team will have a number of buy games against high major opponents,
C) Jamal  willl get a chance to test his skills improvement the high majors and make adjustments and then,
D)Jamal can go into the conference portion of the league and get lots of reps to improve his skills, while at the same time helping the team win their conference and gaining all league honors etc.

If Jamal stayed at a high major he would have to fit into a very defined role which really doesn't help his future out.

I am very happy for him. The kid represented MU incredibly on an off the court. In particular he had one of the best team first attitudes I have seen in a player in a long time.
Amen
Nothing but the best for the young man.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.
