With the pending changes to MU's , BB program, let's get a new mascot to replace the current wimpy, mangy street pigeon.  S/he does not come close to representing the attributes of a Golden Eagle:

Eagles are large, fast, and nimble...
Eagles Have Vision...
Eagles are fearless. ...
Eagles are Tenacious. ...
Eagles are High Flyers. ...
Eagles Never Eat Dead Meat. ...
Eagles posses Vitality. ...
Eagles Nurture their younger ones...

Let's get rid of the pajama suit and replace with ameaner, more muscular, intimidating eagle that  inspires both reverence and fear.

Most of all, Birds don't have fur. We have a furry bird for a mascot.

That's right — a furry bird.

We replaced a Warrior with a furry bird!

All Golden Eagles find the imagery and caricature of our mascot offensive. Time for it to go!

Not to mention bald eagles, who find it discriminatory that we would single out one species of eagle and not the entire eagle family.

Yes.  Also, there are very few things in life cooler than a Bald Eagle taking out a salmon.

Look at the bright side- at least we do not have a mascot as creepy as Providence's Friar. He looks like he came in a time machine fresh from the Spanish Inquisition.

Ahem...Walrus.  We need imagery that reflects the fan base.

I believe the Golden Eagle is the fiercest of the Eagles too,    We actually made  our mascot less fierce looking over the years.  The initial iteration I think was better.

Lol, people need to get over this.  Never happening.

This is only about re-imaging the bird mascot - to a "better" version of the bird.  That definitely could happen.

I thought the Wade era logo was sleek and unique. I still wear my hat with that logo and sometimes people ask where I got it.

The current eagle looks like a lame cartoon. Granted, the it's not really used much outside the Spirit Shop. I don't buy things with that logo on it.

I wish if we didn't get Warriors that we went back to Hilltoppers or Golden Avalanche. At this point, it is what it is. Another change would look kind of silly.

A salmon?  Child's play.  Golden Eagles take out goats:

The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Golden Eagles is lame. Completely pedestrian. Entirely insipid.

Bring back the Golden Shower Avalanche or Hilltoppers

True Fact: Warriors was adopted due to the popularity of the Milwaukee Braves. Before that we were the Hilltoppers. Bring it back.

What I don't understand is how you just can't change the Warrior logo in order to keep the name?  This is isn't hard folks.

I wish I still had my gear with that logo, it was the original GE, which debuted my freshman year. Over many moves since the my wife made me get rid of gear that was over 15 years old. That was a cool logo that could be customized for each sport (e.g., a basketball in its talons).

Not just "Warriors" as a name but the choice to go with a Native American mascot over other "warriors" was all about jumping on board the excitement of the arrival of the Braves.

Goooo I must reiterate that Warlruses or Walrus do not like to be called Walri.  Their hearts are kind and their intellect is legendary.  However, they do not like to be mocked Goooo.  Keep in mind they are not to be trifled with for any reason and can overpower you quite easily.  Baby Walruses casually tip the scales at 250-300 lbs.  Adults?  Some get to 6,000 lbs.  If in fact a Walrus gets angry?  Cancel Christmas Goooo.  They will gore you and pummel you in a matter of seconds.  Now, we can all agree that the Marquette Walruses would be a tremendous nickname.  Yet, when you continue to incorrectly call a group of Walruses...."Walri", you are disparaging our greatest pinniped.  I forgive you but if the Walruses happen to read this thread?  You're in serious trouble.   And do not disparage Narwhals while you are at it.  :)

I stand chastened. And I shall henceforth exercise due respect for all Walruses. Getting gored and pummeled does not sound like fun at all.

And yes - I will exercise a similar degree of respect toward Narwhals as well.

Thank you for your acknowledgement and respect of the mighty Walrus.  I apologize for snapping at you but it was simply a warning to proceed with caution.  Generally Walruses are not vindictive so you should be alright.  :)
