I was convinced Wojo was returning. Proved wrong. The commitment to Marquette Basketball is solidified. The number of posts the last week has to be a record. Excitement is back!!!!

Greet job Bill and the team!!!

Heartfelt thank you is in order. Win or lose, they did the right thing for the program and university. Job well done.

It feels great to have some positive buzz around the program now. Well done!

Agreed.  Scholl has made some very, very good hires in his time at Marquette.

Thank you Bill and Dr. Lovell:

I remember listening to Marquette games on my radio in my bedroom when Don Kojis and Walt Mangham starred on the team. I fell in love with Marquette basketball then and worked hard to go there. Although my Dad took me to see Wilt Chamberlain play as a rookie with the Philadelphia Warriors that year, it was the Marquette Warriors that I dreamt about. Thank you for restoring the magic by hiring Coach Shaka. Ring out ahoya! I am proud to be a Marquette alumnus and excited to watch the next basketball team.

Crazy to think Wojo was our coach 1 week ago today. What a turnaround

Great post. I really am excited about the buzz this hire has created. You have been a fan a long time and I hope Shaka's full court press brings back some memories. A great day to be a Warrior fan.

That really is mind–boggling. And not only was he our coach, but most (including some vocal Nojos) thought he was here for another year.

It has been quite a week.

I admit the past few years have left me wondering about the scope of the administration's commitment.  Glad it is still there.

Agreed, thank you!

I also owe them an apology for questioning their commitment. Glad I was wrong!

Today is a great day for Marquette Nation!
Bring back FFP!!!

Sorry, but I can't congratulate anyone until Shaka has had success.  You put us in this mess to begin with.....now get us out.

Also.... You missed out on Wisconsin Native Nate Oats

I'm sure they'd appreciate a few shekels and/or ticket renewals aligned with this news.  I just completed a small donation to get on record that I appreciate the move.

Lovell was a couple weeks on the job and Scholl was working at Ball State when Wojo was hired.

You have no clue how college athletics work. Extensions are formalities granted in order to show recruits the coach is going to be there.

The extension was just the cost of doing business.  Didn't turn out to be a problem in the least.

At that point, Wojo hadn't shown anything....

Not to mention, I had called for his firing around that time.  It's amazing how the enablers try to justify things.

It's really cute that anyone thinks Scholl or Lovell read MUScoop.

I'm not enabling anything.  Giving a coach an extension at that point was fine and turned out not to be an obstacle in the least when a change needed to be made. And despite your statement of wanting him fired, there was ZERO chance that he was going to be fired then.  None.

You want to keep living in the past go ahead.  Everyone else is going to move on.  I know your incessant bitching is really all you can do here, so maybe Shaka will do something to let you do what you are good at someday.

What's really cute is watching a bunch of Pro Wojoers dance around when being held accountable.  The enabling, group horde, mentality on here is hilarious. I honestly will miss the lame Kenpom stats cited in support of Wojo.
