Exactly. I truly hope SS is recruiting over players like Sy. If he wants to be a part of the excitement....he can be 12th man imo.

Yeah. Junior Cadougan, Joe Fulce and Erik Williams didn't exactly get swole working with Todd Smith.
Every body is different and everybody's capacity to add muscle is different, and - barring pharmaceutical assistance - highly dependent on genetics. I don't think who the basketball coach is has much, if anything, to do with it.

Was Todd Smith the SC coach back in the Crean days too? I remember they put out a workout video of Wes Matthews ripping off like pushups off rings with a plate on his back before the draft. The run from Wes/Rel/Nic through Jae had some Dudes.

I'm very curious to see if any players are absent from the presser this afternoon, and also whether Shaka mentions any commitments from the existing roster, incoming recruits or transfers.

Circumstantially...quite possibly. We might say "he was a top-50 recruit who never quite panned out but has talent, and one of our likely assistants, Cody Hatt, used to be the head coach at Torrence's prep school, Vermont Academy, so it's a natural fit."

My thinking was that having someone "absent" from the presser might be more telling than who is in attendance. But then cheebs09 pointed out that it's Spring Break, so I won't be reading anything into it if anyone is missing.

I think the initial plans called for no Spring Break, but they revised those later.

This is false. Spring break was combined with Easter break, and runs from March 27th-April 5th.

They are definitely on spring break. Maybe players would attend via zoom, but I wouldn't expect them to be there in person.

Undergrads are not on spring break. The Dental School is on Spring Break.

I seem to remember Todd looking pissed/agitated/disinterested during that press conference, which was interesting since they (again, if I recall correctly) put him right in the middle behind Wojo.  Didn't exactly start off on the right foot.

Because he retweeted and liked 1 post? If anything I would say its troubling that hes the only one that has expressed any sign of anything towards the hire....I wouldnt call that him being on train tho...

Interesting. Well, being wrong is not an uncommon occurrence for me. It would be great if the team is on campus to meet Shaka.

Perhaps it is better that the players are not there. It would give Shaka the opportunity to present his vision for the program without all of us analyzing the body language of the players while he is talking to us and the press. It has only been 3 days and I'm sure he will address the team individually and as a group when they return from break.
