There is a Reason Jay Bilas said as long as MU stays in the Old Big East MU will be in the Big ‪Dance. When MU Joined the Old Big East Mr Cords literally whispered in my ear MU will be very good for a very long time. After Marquette joined the New Big East Mr Lovell literally whispered in my ear Do not worry about it it is only basketball. ‬Also when MU joined the New Big East a Cords said this puts MU in rebuilding mode. That said only 20% of this is on the Titanic Power shift within the conference when it changed from Old to New. Benefiting teams like Villanova and Hurting teams Like Marquette. 80% of this is on Coach Wojo. Am a Nojo and think this firing will be good for MU Winning. Which as AL said if winning was not important they would not keep score. # I was the one who yelled Go at the top of my lungs in a silent Rupp Arena when Marquette's Vander caught the inbound pass against Davidson.

The more you post about the conference, the less it makes sense.

I don't think you're using the word "literally" correct here.

Plus the current iteration of the Big East predates Lovell and Wojo.

Tums Festival

Let's hope they get a proven commodity but I fear they'll go the assistant route again.

You apparently haven't read the article in the JS. Scholl is quoted as saying he has a "head coach bias." Plus the guy who hired Crean and Steve isn't here anymore.
"Every day ends with a Tums festival!"

I know Scholl prefers someone with previous HC experience, but our history indicates we've been better with hiring an assistant (Buzz, TC, O'Neil, Hank) - with the exception of Wojo. With the exception of Al, HC hires have been bad (Dukiet, Diane).

This is multiple times you posted this story. I'm happy for you that Cords whispered in your ear, but who the hell cares and you make no sense.

Eh, he posted a couple lines MU's PR firm wrote up for him.

Yeah, he's already thinking about his next job.  He trashes Marquette on the way out, no one will touch him.

patso

Wojo lost me in the game this year where MU had a big lead and the other coach in desperation implemented a full court zone. Wojo did not call a time out until the lead had evaporated. There was an obvious strategy to counter the zone press and he did nothing.

I don't think you're using the cord "correct" correctly here.

Who's Diane?

Even though Brent was an assistant when MU hired him, he had prior head coaching experience (albeit for only one season).

Have some patience, FFS.

I don't know all the inner workings at MU, but I've seen some peaks inside big time PR. My take on a situation like this is that the only thing that matters is no one making the situation worse. Someone writes up a nice thank you to all the kind folks who've been along for the ride, and the dismissed party clicks send in the relevant outlets.

All I'm saying is, I'm not reading much into any of the social media posts or the interviews offered this week. It's all very controlled with very specific language being used. Standard PR fluff, not actual, personal opinions.

Scholl did offer more than I expected, but it's all still pretty tightly managed.

Something written by a PR firm still has to be approved by the person quoted. Pretty standard stuff here.

The guy wants a job coaching college hoops. He'll play his role as expected to not deter sny future suitors. Giving him kudos for that is a stretch, IMO.

Mr Cords put his hand to my ear and whispered at the Press conference announcing MU's joining the Old Big East 2 years before Marquette actually joined.

Am just reporting on things I have been told. Most of Marquette's troubles have to do with Wojo 80% and Coaching. But many do not know about the positive power shift when we joined the Old Big East and the negative power shift when we joined the New Big East. If you were aware of this I apologize.

JWags85

Oh good, back to the negative of the New Big East  ::)
