Does anybody know what's going on with TV for Saturday? Gomarquette.com has the game listed on ESPN, but I noticed this site has it listed as being on ESPN Full Court.

MilTown

During the Duke / UNC game they were advertising it as being on ESPN. Dickie V. was talking about how its going to be a big game for us especially after losing at home to LVille.

It's on ESPN, and in HD too.  [EDIT:  not in HD]

Ludum habemus.

And on 360 for those with access to that.

Corrected the scoreboard at the top of this board.  Thanks for the update!

Not in HD. There would be little red HD symbol following the description if it were in HD.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Ah, I see that now.  Sorry.

I wonder if the Joyce Center is too small/archaic to accommodate the HD equipment? I don't think I've ever heard of a game played there that's shown in HD...

Why would anyone want to put that dump on HD anyway. They could get some great concourse shots of Haragody's mother selling popcorn before the game. All benefits go towards new uniforms next year!

I would take that if it was in HD. HD trumps all. End of story.

Sorry, I am a bit of an HD snob.

It has nothing to do with the venue. ESPN does not have a HD truck scheduled for the game.

The link above shows the game on both SD and HD channels.

The Man in Gold

ESPN does not usually broadcast there Saturday afternoon games in HD...just their Saturday night games.  FYI UCONN @ ND last month was in HD, so the Joyce Center can support it.

nothing to do with the venue.  you shoot hoops fairly tight, so even a dump like the Joyce looks ok.

equipment is no bigger, trucks etc same size.

most folks would be hard-pressed to tell the difference between the two cameras if they were side by side.

only thing that has to be bigger is the bandwidth and, generally, monitoring (width of units)

truly a programming and/or scheduling decision, as full HD sports trucks are still a premium and tough to just go out and get.

a lot of what you watch on (local) 'HD' tv is still SD upconverted.
some looks fine, some like poop.
