We have lost 5 of our last 6 games. Sadly this is now becoming all too familiar to Marquette fans, the late season collapse by Wojo. Brutal.
Seven years into his tenure and we are sinking fast.

Can't collapse if you've been bad all season!

Japabound

PROJOS super silent.
We gotta give him another year. He's got great recruits coming in next year. Just wait until next year. Yeah next year they'll finally play like Buzz's last years team. Oh wait?!!?!

NCMUFan

Move on to the next coach.  I doubt anyone will lose sleep with it.

Goose

This is not a collapse, it is reflection on where the program currently sits. Couple of highlights, but did zero to build off it.

Yep. This isn't a "late-season collapse" at all. It started in effen December.

Still interested in rewriting history I see.

This is an embarrassing hire and the powers that be look foolish. If they targeted him from the beginning so be it. They clearly looked high and low for someone who was simply willing to take it and they hired him

I won't.  I've posted it before.  You're lying.

interesting off season ahead if there is a coaching change with the new transfer rule being implemented. wild wild west

the shelves could be empty. graduate 3 senior starters, DJ to pro route, Dawson & Lewis can take advantage of open transfer rule, do Dex & Oso go back to west coast and get minutes, lose our top incoming class, etc.

Nah. He has now refined it to a full season collapse.

Posting one thing from your history is hardly comprehensive.

For instance, I probably once said you made a good point about something.  Since that clearly was an exception, it clearly shouldn't be used as an example of my point of view about your general knowledge as a quality poster.

The transfer rule could work in our favor too. In fact, this is probably the best opportunity we have to part ways with Wojo because of the transfer flexibility.

It seems like the NCAA tends to grant waivers when guys want to leave after theur coach gets pushed out. So our guys can probably leave without penalty whenever Wojo is finally shown the door. The upside of this very unique season is that new guys can come here and play without sitting.

To me, it seems like the risks of losing guys to transfers are the exact same this year as any other year, but the potential benefit of the transfer rules this season are much greater. Why not leverage the situation and move on?

mug644

I was thinking the same as skianth16. The transfer rule could be a silver lining on a coaching change. In theory, the rebuild time could be faster.

True. That's a good point. But would be devastating to lose Lewis & García to gain a couple Bradley guys. Not sure elite transfers chomping at the bit to come to MU right now

DJ, can you explain what league he is going to?  He is way to loose with the ball, passing questionable, low BB IQ, no jump shot, shot needs work on, release way to
slow, yes, he can dunk.  Needs at least another year, maybe even 2 to be ready for the pros.

Or he can work on his game in the GLeague year round without distractions while getting quite a nice sum of money, especially for the small markets it's in.

He clearly needs work on his handle.  He also needs a more consistent outside shot.

But I don't think he is low IQ.  He is pretty good at getting to the rim and to the line.  His vision is good too.

I think he needs another year so I think he will be back.  But players don't need to improve in college.  They can also improve on a NBA bench or in the G-League.
