I added the ' lighten up, Francis.'

But, don't lighten up.   Obsess away.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Wonder what your edit was after re-reading your own post.

Duke had a poor night, still went for 17-3-9.

Koby needs to keep his mouth shut and learn how to close out games; watch the end again he was waiting for a PU player to make eye contact while on the line so he could talk more sh;t.

Again, if you don’t think that’ll cost this team down the road, good for you.

What exactly is going to cost the team?

I'm glad you asked.  I ran the advanced statistics this morning, the team will lose 5 beef & cheddar's from their allocation.  Look for it in Kenpoms next update.

edit: whoops, you asked what was going to cost them.  Well, you know the cost now, I guess we still need the answer to your question  :)

Free throw misses happen to everyone. I still trust Koby with the game on the line.

As far as the trash talking, this team needs a bit of toughness. Koby provides that. He also plays harder than anyone else on the team. Every team trash talks. Should our guys just play with their mouth shut?

You don’t see an issue with the team’s FT shooting? Cain’s two misses and Koby’s three in the last 1:20 could’ve been a major issue without Garcia’s rebounds - but whatever makes you feel better.

So trash talking = toughness, who knew?

Oh, that’s an easy one.

Too many missed free throws could cost them a win.

What a weird hill to die on.  Team FT% is 71%.  That's down 3% from last year after losing a player that was both elite at drawing fouls and hitting his FTs.  This team has faults, hitting their free throws at a respectable clip is not one of them.  As for the trash talking, I'm fine with it, until he picks up a T.

Last 30 seconds against Creighton starring down either Mahoney or Zeg after they said "you ain't making this" Koby sink one, and glares back "I'm gonna make this one too" and sinks it. Weird you didn't have a problem with it then.

Bottom line is it's about the missed free throws. You're making an association that the missed free throws were due to the trash talk when in reality they were just missed free throws as Koby has been trash talking from the line this whole time and usually backs it up.

We shoot 71.3% on free throws, good for 5th in the conference. We're not elite, but it's fine.

If you want to follow a team that doesn't trash talk, you should probably focus solely on U11 teams.

JFC.  I love all the challenges, ha.  You guys get all cozy and comfy with this team and feel great about our execution to end games.  I’ll be back when the FTs and/or Koby’s trash talk gets in the way of his performance and costs us.

This is ridiculous.

Is that where you’re hanging out? Not familiar with that demographic.

Again....for 13th time...I don’t give a F if you like Koby’s trash talking.  I think it’s a distraction and will cost him and the team.

I mean, it was a 2 point lead at the under 4 media TO, and we won by 10.  That seems like pretty good execution down the stretch to me.  To each their own.

Couple things are weird to me too.
1. That you know the exchange that took place between the players at CU; are you an official?

2. That you didn’t think I had a problem with it then either, did we speak?

So just to confirm...AGAIN....no issue with the 4-9 FTs in the last 1:20?

1. Because it was audible on the television.

2. Because you weren't posting on it back then. I suppose it is poor judgement of me to assume you didn't have a problem with it.

By my count we were 9-13 from the under 4 to the finish.  The 69% is below our 71% season average, so sure I guess it's a problem. Is it anywhere close to our biggest problem? IMO, no.  Again, we extended the lead from 2 to 10, and scored 13 points in the last 3:36.  I don't think there's a ton of substance to complain about there.  To each their own.

1. No? I just made up that entire exchange? Just because you didn't hear it in real time doesn't mean others didn't think to replay and hear what they were saying when jawing at each other.

Just think how many more free throws they would have hit had Koby not talked trash.  Because apparently those are mutually exclusive now.
