Given the threat of the pandemic stunting the 2020 NCAA bball season, how many players from a given team can redshirt?

Could we avoid everyone on the team losing a year of eligibility on a BS season like this and hit it hard again in 2021-2022?

Would we be fined by the Big East or NCAA for forefitting the season?

Is a team limited to a certain number of redshirts per year?

Given that DJ Carton will likely only be here for a year and Dawson Garcia probably has legit early entry draft hopes as well I'd say it's not a great plan. But hell I'd still watch those two and the walk ons play a year.

Not sure how DJ and Dawson would feel about that. Yeah, they would be the centerpieces of the team, but they would also be double and triple teamed all season long.

But I agree with your point - there is a reasonable chance both will be here for only one season, so we might as well see them while we can.

On the question of whether we could do it – the fact that UConn has canceled its entire football season seems to indicate that it's not against any rules.

They would have to agree to it, and if I were most players, there is zero chance I would if I were due some playing time.

Also Greg and Dex have already redshirted.

Based on precedent, if the season is significantly cut short players well get a year back. Even fall sport athletes who get to play a full spring season won't use a year of eligibility this year.

Great idea.  Then we'd be sure to get the number one draft pick next season, right?

Aha so it's DJ Dawson Greg and Dex with the walk ons! Now we're getting a competitive team while everyone else redshirts.
