First time in 22 years that one of the big 3 didn't win a Grand Slam title.

That's pretty freakin' amazing.

Another WTF move from the USOpen.  Let's have the Gauff/Navarro match at 2:30 Eastern and put the Vecic/Zheng match on Ashe after Tiafoe in tbe evening.  Absolutely absurd.

Why the F are they putting women's matches on after the men's in tbe night session at all?  They didn't do this before for a reason because the men can go 4 -5 hours.

Brutal loss for Gauff.   The serve issues are crazy.  I'd axe her entire team.  And while I'm at it, I would dismiss Chrissie Evert and Fowler as well.  :)

Tiafoe lost focus in the 3rd set.  He must amp it up now and take care of business.

BAM.  How come there isn't a door slammed emoji?

Tiafoe and Fritz to the QF's.  Hopefully Tommy Paul punks Skinner tomorrow.

Didn't see the match, but just read that she double-faulted 19 times. 19! Yikes! She needs to fire herself!

I think she had 11 in the 3rd set.  Can't happen.   She seems to have too many people in her ear and Gilbert hasn't helped her.  She is incredibly talented  but the serve and breakdown of her forehand are ridiculous.  She doesn't have a 3/4 speed when she's missing 1st serves and you can say the same thing about her forehead.  Her 2nd serve is a disaster right now.  She doesn't accelerate her racquet.  I just think she needs a reset.

I hope you've been in contact about coaching her.

Great to hear Fritz disposed of Zverev.  Now it's time for Tiafoe to annihilate Dimitrov.  A Fritz/Tiafoe SF means an American in the Final on Sunday.

Great job by Navarro spearing the Spaniard.  I could actually go for some Paella.

Dmitrov can barely crack 100 on a serve. Hate to see that

That's a bummer.  But Tiafoe/Fritz should be electric.

Yahoo Sports, discussing the four Americans with a shot at being in the US Open semifinals (Fritz, Tiafoe and Navarro are already there; Pegula can get there by beating Swiatek today):

Navarro: Daughter of a billionaire.

Pegula:  Daughter of a billionaire.

Fritz: Son of wealthy tennis pros.

Tiafoe: Son of African immigrants who discovered tennis at a training center in suburban D.C., where his father was a custodian (and where Frances often slept on a massage table).

Tiafoe just being a pro tennis player is a tremendous story.  Fritz sort of has his number but the crowd will be rooting for Tiafoe.  Pegula up a set on Iga.   Emma Navarro may have to change her pace on her shots a bit vs Sabalenka.  Whoever wins between Sinner/Medvy will be a significant favorite.

Pegula with a big win.

Pegula is really endearingand easy to root for.  Peaked kind of late (didn't win her second tourney until she was 28, didn't make the 3rd round of of a major until she was 27, now her first semi at 30) which is impressive determination in the face of the tired spoiled rich kid narratives.  Could be doing anything with her family's endless money other than grinding on a long and grueling tour.

She handles that and a lot of other stuff really well in her pressers.  She's just a likable personality that's great for the sport.

Agreed.  I think Navarro is really likeable as well.  It's also goo to see college players succeeding in the pros.

You can't try to out hit Sabalenka with flat groundies.  She has too much pop in his shots.
