See...this is where I get pissed.  This is a big deal...lots of people in the US are going to die...the market is crashing...everything is coming to a hault.  You were so unnatural carnal knowledgeing wrong, so now you say everyone is acting like everyone is going to die.  EVERYONE with a brain knows only the elderly and those with weak ammune systems are likely to be effected.  At this point you are no longer funny...you become dangerous.  Quit moving goal posts...there is a reason not a single unnatural carnal knowledgeing person is backing you.  Not Trump, not Fox News.  So tell me how many you expect to die from this, and if this is a big deal.  Better yet...tell my dad who is in a battle for his life with cancer or my baby girls who spent months in the NICU.  Dumbass.

Is that chart semi legit?  I just have to watch ABC or BBC or listen to NPR?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

marquette09

Surprised they didn't just cancel the entire tournament.

Are you doing a bit or actually asking this in earnest?

I wonder if they'll just end the BET after tonight.

Actually asking.  I'm a pretty neutral person politically and I believe CNN and Fox are so opposite that a station right down the middle would be a money maker.  I would like to form my own opinions about the facts.

I read a ton as well.  Too many news outlets.  I'm just curious what others think might be an objective news outlet.

The best you can probably find is the niche financial news outlets, e.g., Bloomberg.  Since money is on the line, they have an incentive to get things right, report on things that could hurt your wealth, etc.

I don't think there's a big enough market for a broad, "right down the middle" news channel.  You can (and will) always be flanked from either side, right or left.

IMO, Brookings is "right down the middle" but people say it's biased.  Whaddayagonnado?

Actually, CNN and MSNBC are complete opposites. CNN is pretty centrist - and also pretty boring. I've been in lots of corporate offices where the screens in their cafeterias run CNN. Too many complaints from one side or the other if one of the other two channels are running. Nobody pays attention to CNN.

Thanks.  I suppose this should not be in this thread or in "hanging at the AL".  I'll stop posting about it.

I'd try sneaking two rounds in tomorrow (Thursday) then finals early on Friday.

Get everyone out a day and a half early.

I'm basically an eternal optimist but it's easy to tell this is done. There may be games this weekend but I'd be shocked if there was an NCAA tournament.

I'd guess we hear soon that games are cancelled tomorrow.

Yah, this this isn't happening. Maybe survives another day if Hoiberg tests negative for it, but if he's positive it's over. Even if he's negative, it's likely just a matter of 24-48 hours before someone affiliated with a team does test positive, then it's over.

It sucks, and I hope I'm wrong. Just don't see how they can allow this to continue. I also don't think delaying it is very realistic.

Why would it be unrealistic to delay it? Sure, it might be challenging, and there might be some games that would be played in smaller arenas, but I don't think it would be too tough to figure out. Maybe first and second round games just get played on campus instead of central sites.

Broadcasting the games and getting referees could get tricky, but I bet the smart folks over at CBS and the NCAA could put their heads together (figuratively, of course!) to work something out.

marqfan22

Do you think they'll play on Thursday

Spaniel with a Short Tail

Hoiberg testing positive may lead to the cancellation of the B10 tournament but not necessarily the BET unless there is a BE team connection to him.

I regularly read the AP and the NYTimes because they have always been balanced, so I'm glad this chart shows both smack in the middle.

wadesworld

Best case scenario would be get the conference tourneys in this weekend in empty gyms, get your field set, and suspend it for a month in the hopes that things settle down and you can at least play the NCAA Tournament in some practice gyms by then.

Still think that's wishful thinking.
