*NCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT TO BE PLAYED WITHOUT FANS

Is the first step to canceling?  Or, is this "the fix?"

Kinda sucks.. wonder if it will make the games significantly less entertaining to watch or not. I dont mean ours

Mr. Nielsen

Of course this stinks! Crowd will not be getting behind the double digit seed. No bands or cheerleaders, I would think. Everything we love, GONE!

The crowd rooting for the underdog often aids the upsets.  Might be kind of "clinical" in the 16-1 to 11-6 matchup.  Everyone roots for the upsets!

Not everything. I'm just grateful the games will go on (as of now).

Conversely, this could be the highest rated tournament ever.

Yah...will it even be televised at this point?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Great news considering our record in closed door scrimmages.  #MUNatty

Makes me wonder if they will try to switch smaller venues. Capacity no longer matters. Venue shouldn't care, they aren't going to be bringing in revenue anyway at this point.

They do have contracts with the existing venues.

I'm guessing there is insurance in place for a catastrophic event? Lot of lost revenue at the sites.

Agree! This one will go down in history.

If we win a couple games, it will be tainted and Wojo cannot be given credit, because of the conditions.

If we fall, and no one is around to hear it, does it really make a sound? No! And so Wojo cannot be blamed for a first round exit.

This is shaping up to be great for the Projo v Nojo debate.

"I'm told the NCAA tournament games will still be televised but the policy regarding media attendance is still being worked out.  Fluid situation to say the least."

so, play it in the practice gym?

Playing in front of 100 people will feel like a crowd instead of 20,000 empty seats.

*** This is assuming they are played.  Trump addresses the nation from the Oval office tonight at 8 PM ET.  Lots suggesting he will announce a nationwide ban on mass gatherings effectively ending March Madness and the NBA season.

We'll find out in a few hours.

I mean, wouldn't it be a better atmosphere for players than playing in empty NBA arenas? That's what I would try to do.

Agree, especially the games being played in football stadiums, like the Final Four in Atlanta.  Frankly, a high school gym with a regulation size court would be best.  The family there may make a little noise.

Keep at least 3 feet or something between people has been suggested, gotta keep a section between people.
