With about a minute to go in the game, and things locked up, I noticed Crean did NOT go to Acker or Cubillan.  Then, I looked at the box score and saw the Ack/Cubes/Fitz had 25 minutes between them.  They average 52.

It worked... I'm not complaining, but they will be needed with the quick tournaround against Looeyville on Monday night.

I think at this point in the BE season that TC will go with a shorter bench on the road.  He will go situational to mix it up and stay with the hot hand.

Big Papi

We needed this win bad and TC did say that he will play the guys who give us the best chance to win.  Today, Cube missed wide open 3s.  Fitz couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and Acker was getting abused defensively.  Thing is, if either Cube or Acker had stepped up their game at all today, they would have received a lot of minutes as DJ was struggling with his shot and decision making but was far superior on the defensive end than Acker in particular.

DJ struggled with his shot, however, he was greatly needed today to defend Vaughn. And that he did pretty well. Vaughn was the one guy that Cincy had that could really kill us if we didn't lock him down.

I'm glad.  Consider Barro a starter since he got the minutes of one, and our bench gets outscored 20-5.  A "deep team" has a bench that does more than that.  We don't want to have a tired team a month from now, but if winning requires putting our best five players on the floor until they have nothing left, then I hope Acker/Cubillan/Fitz keep the bench warm.

I hope Fitz gets his head out of his rear very soon.  If he's not hitting wide open shots, I'm not real sure what role he has on this team.

With Louisville getting a blowout against Rutgers today their starters probably had more time to rest for the Monday night game against us.  Hence, maybe Fitz, David and Acker will have the freshes legs for us on Monday.

Fitz and Culliban have been in 3 pt shooting slumps. My guess is that they will both break out of it together and some opponent will pay dearly for it.
