Marcus and NBA prospects

Marcus will go down as one of the great Marquette players if all time. He is a wonderful young gentleman and great ambassador for the university. BUT, regardless of what many think here, is NOT NBA worthy.
He IS a great college player but that does not mean he has NBA pro potential. There have been many great college players that did not do well in or even make NBA teams and play.
Marcus' shortcomings were quite obvious in the DePaul game just finished. He had shots blocked when taking the ball in deep, lost control driving and looking for a player to pass to and has had both of these things happen repeatedly in his career.
NBA guys are bigger and faster than most of his college opponents and he will NEVER stand a chance on driving and shooting in the NBA. He is NOT a NBA point guard nor have the skills for that.
And there are plenty of bigger shooters littered throughout the league.
A possible European or Asian team/league may invest in him but the NBA isn't in his future if you are honest and have seen him play and NBA guys play...
Love the kid but let's be real here....
Let's enjoy his last games for us and the great career he had here and wish him well in his future. He did go to class here, right,? Maybe graduate with a degree from Marquette? The long range goal when he came here?

Huge fan of Markus and I think he will be a very successful man, just not in the NBA.

1) the NBA takes players with an elite skill. Markus shoots at an absolute elite level.
2) he will never be THE MAN on an NBA team necessitating him drawing all the attention or needing to do everything to create.

He will he drafted and he will make an NBA roster, probably as a 2 way player at first. Lou Williams has made a career out of being a 6 foot scoring guard and playing off of a bigger 1 and 3.

Absent that, you clearly know nothing about international basketball. If you think someone is going to have to take a flyer on him in Hungary or the Philippines. If he doesn't make the NBA, and he doesn't want to sit in the D League, he will play for a top team in Spain, Greece, or Turkey and put up big numbers.
