Greg is a guy that I like to root for primarily because he's had a rough go of it with injuries the last couple of seasons. Given his history, what are the expectations for him in his final two seasons? Role player? Big-time minutes? He has shown flashes and can certainly be an X-factor, but I really don't know what to expect going forward. Anyone else care to weigh in?

Aircraftcarrier

I like Greg too.Does many things well.I believe he is the perfect 6th man on a team.Should get more minutes

BCHoopster

If you watch his D you realize he has lost his quickness, can not defend. Unless something changes physically, will basically be a career backup

Boston Warrior

Greg Elliot needs to get healthy. He is a role player at the 2, possibly a starter depending on recruiting. Possibly a point guard or small forward for short bursts. 15 to 25 minutes a game.

Silent Verbal

I like that he can hit the open three, seems good for at least one a game.  I don't know that he'll ever truly be a featured player.  If he stays at Marquette, his peak is probably a role similar to what Sacar's had the last two years.  Which isn't bad.

Goose

Looks like a great kid and reminds of Charles Luter when I watch him run. Likely a role player moving forward.

Charles Luter! A blast from the past. He was another guy I rooted for, but was never the same after his injury. Pre-injury that guy had explosive talent.

We R Final Four

Greg is slow and weak right now. Not the same since the injuries.
Best I hope for is GE to get healthy.
He sees the floor very well, can hit that open 3, but would love to see what the healthy GE could do.

Goose

Luter was big time explosive prior to injuries and I also was a big fan of his.

I as well. He had big time physical talent.

Goose

For the record, only comparison between GE and Luter is an obvious slowdown and labored running stride.

Shooter McGavin

I like Greg's ability to contort his body going to the rim and finish (with and without contact).  He is one of the few on our team I don't cringe when he takes to the hoop.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Greg was the 2017 class member I was most excited about. Not sure we'll ever get to see his full potential. Just too snakebitten with injuries. Reminds me of Duane Wilson in that way.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

GE should have spent some time in the weight room during some of his sabbaticals. He looks small, almost frail.

I'm sure he did. He's gained about 15 lbs of muscle since he got here. I'm not sure how much muscle you can hang on his frame.

I still have hope for GE. I love his demeanor as much as any player on the team. His story hasn't been written yet.

Luter or Elliot?

Best player to have a career destroying injuries were Art Green and Bill Gates (sp)

Fantastic comp. couldn't agree more.  Hopefully he can get fully healthy in the off-season and make a big impact.  I'm rooting for him.

Agreed, Joe Fulce too

Is anyone here familiar with the nature of his injuries relative to getting back to his athletic ceiling?
Would it be a deal where enough time passes and he gets most of that back, or have they taken away the ability for him to get it back.

Either way I love what Greg brings to this team, think his improved shooting will be all the more valuable with Markus/Sacar graduating, and am excited to see his second half.

Greg gives all indications of being a great young man and perfect teammate. On a good BE team, he is an 8-10 minute per game role player the next two seasons.

I always thought of him as a great "energy off the bench" kind of player, getting anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes/game depending on how he and the game are going.
