Get the game under control stripes
« on: February 18, 2020, 09:15:13 PM »
No clue what’s going to get a whistle. Bodies banging around on the dribble and nothing at all all game long. But when there’s a scrum on one end you get a foul call on Sacar, then they let a scrum go...until Jayce is laying the ball in and then call a jump. Stopping the game mid play multiple times. Not to mention how many times will Creighton get away with shuffling their feet? They all look like early season Koby but have only been whistled once.

I’ll just call my shot now. Creighton will be out no later than round 2. Don’t shoot well away from the pillow soft rims in Omaha and play the most handsy defense I’ve ever seen. Won’t be BE refs who let teams ride ball handlers up and down the court.

I’d take that bet. My only issue with Creighton is their turnovers. Other than that, this team can exploite a lot of teams.

If you've watched them play in the tourney under McDermott, then a first round loss should be expected. Soooft. Wojo teams are even softer in the tourney.

They’re really good I think but don’t play particularly smart. They were begging MU to get back in the game with their string of very quick threes late in the game. Pretty fun team to watch. I have no issue cheering for them in the NCAA.

As much as I dislike Seton Hall and Creighton, I always cheer for the Big East in the tournament.

Bump. How can our opponent slip out of their jump stop with no whistle but any sign of any kind of movement after a jump stop for us is a travel call immediately? Frustrating.

Are you effing kidding me with that kicked ball? Duke kicks the ball into Markus’s foot, no call. Buzzer goes off. Ref runs in and calls a kick after the shot clock violation call? To Providence? 9 point game we’re on a run. They get a layup and the game is over.

I’d have more respect for Wojo’s lack of an offensive gameplay if he went biserck on these refs for that call.

Honestly thought it was the right call. It was on Koby with one second left

Apparently Providence fans are livid about the harsh whistle they're getting.

Our problems are bigger than the zebras, but the idea we're getting the better of things from the officials is ludicrous.

I think it should have been a no call but yeah it definitely was not a block.

Will Markus need to be beheaded to get a call today?

All I ask for from refs is consistency on both sides of the court with your whistle. If you’re going to let McKnight ride Markus into dudes waiting to deck him to the ground (multiple times a possession) that’s cool. As long as you aren’t going to call Theo sliding his feet with Powell and Powell snapping his head back like he just got sniped from the upper deck as a foul.

10 total fouls in the first half. I’d put money on one of the teams being in the double bonus about 8 minutes into the second half. And then the other team getting 3 fouls in 2 possessions to close the foul gap.

Complaining about the refs is SO lame.

I’d much rather watch a 10 foul first half than a whistle fest.

PS - When a defender jumps straight up in the air with hands straight up - it’s not a foul. Markus has created the contact on a couple of the drives that were no calls.

Amen. Could not agree more. Leave the referee-bias paranoia to Illini fans. It’s a tired refrain.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she’d be a super horse......what’s this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

Like I said, that’s cool. Then don’t call Theo for Myles running into his chest and flopping around.

If you think the refs are the reason that Marquette is getting killed, you are clueless.

When you allow a team to grab, ride, and bump your guards, especially a smaller guard, this happens. Marquette is playing sloppy, but DePaul is being allowed to abuse the ballhandler
