Haanif Cheatham  -- Why did he leave MU a couple/few year ago?

Galway Eagle

He claimed there was some issue back home so he wanted to be closer to his family. Somebody who's closer to the program could probably confirm or deny this but he did in fact move back for a few years so there may be something to it
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

The decision to grad-transfer to Nebraska is an interesting one, though.
He obviously picked a landing spot where playing time greatly outweighed team success because the Huskers weren't expecting to do anything in Hoiberg's rebuilding first year.

He went back to Florida because he forgot to bring his right hand

Death on call

GooooMarquette

Here's the article - specifically says he wanted to be closer to home.

Seems pretty credible, since he was starting and averaging over 26 mpg when he left. And he did go to FGCU, which is less than 2 hours from where he went to HS. He ultimately did a grad transfer back to Nebraska, but that doesn't mean he didn't have reason to want to be closer to home a couple of years earlier....

You need to know the entire story: Like everybody else who transferred out the last few years, Haani left for a much better program at a much higher level because Wojo had thoroughly de-motivated him.

Should've given him max minutes.

(Can somebody more technologically advanced than me please make an Oprah GIF with her giving out max minutes? YOU GET MAX MINUTES! AND YOU GET MAX MINUTES! AND YOU GET MAX MINUTES!)

Health issues in the family dictated the transfer back home as far as I know.... he's a great kid and his mom was an absolute treasure to sit by lol
