Mr. Sand-Knit

Wisconsin gives up a 23-2 run over the last 8 minutes of the game on the road to a ranked Iowa, during the melt down Davison nut punches an Iowa oponent showing clearly that Gard has no control over his players and is a horrible coach to give up a lead like that. Also a starter and leading scorer is leaving the program.
Clearly he should be fired for this inexcusable  loss and failure to lead his team.

Dear God, no!!

I will throw in for a Keep Greg Gard Fund!

Death on call

Davison is really a turd

I'd be concerned about direction under Gard if King is in fact leaving. That would be huge blow to them, short and long term

Silent Verbal

I think this post was meant to be sarcastic, but Gard may well be on thin ice if they collapse the rest of this year and King is gone.

Got a buddy in the UW loop.

King is way gone.

Closed down his twitter. Deleted any info about UW.

Would love him at MU!!

Are schools still allowed to "block off" certain schools (even if non-conference) when a player transfers? In other words, if Gard wanted to, could he prevent King from going to Marquette?

Not sure, but after what Bo pulled with Uthoff, I'd be surprised if they tried it.

They can't block contact but can block getting athletic aid.

Not trying to rip on the kid but I think MU could do better.

He's already had knee surgery and he doesn't seem to have a big east body.

More of a finesse player.

Plus, if he's looking to be the BMOC that probably isn't going to happen at Marquette. Especially if Mane decides to commit.

I really don't get his decision. He was quickly becoming a featured player at UW.

Hell, the baggers would have probably beat #18 Iowa on the road if he had played. That would have helped MU as well.

I just don't get it.

King and Mane wouldn't play on the same team as King would sit out next year. I think he'd actually fill a need for MU but probably not worth it. I think it will be sit one and play one with another team unless he's granted a waiver.

Yeah, if Mane ends up being a one and done. It may turn out he's not quite as good as advertised. He's currently projected at #40 in the NBA draft so he isn't a lock.

Regardless, Dawson, Justin, and Osa as well as Symir will all have claims on the spotlight by the time Kobe would be eligible. That doesn't even factor in 2021 recruits. I just don't see him as a good fit at MU.

I may be crazy but I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Kentucky. A Wisconsin kid had good luck there not long ago. If I recall correctly their games were fairly similar. Maybe he would be better off at a place like Kentucky.

Either way, I can't imagine him going to a lesser program than UW, which means Marquette is definitely a possibility.

The rumbling is getting louder, and Gard was no where near Barry's first choice, but they are kind of stuck. Not Bo but not terrible, middling results but no embarrassment I can recall.

Gard has a better shot at getting chit-canned at UW, than Woj does at MU, aina?

I think he's finding himself, by reaching out to others.

Gard is not going to be fired.

He's been to the tournament in three of his four years, making the S16 twice.  He will make the tournament again this year.  He has a currently ranked top 20 class coming in next year.  His contract extends through 2023-24.

If this year ends poorly, they may decide not to give the one year extension that UW usually gives.  Which would mean the seat is getting warm.  But they aint firing a coach over Kobe King.

I'm still puzzled as to why this class is highly ranked other than number of committments.  Its a barely top 100 recruit and then 4 guys outside of the top 150.

Purdue is below them with 2 recruits higher than Carlson.  LSU has a top 25 recruit, a top 140 guy, and they are behind them.  Louisville has a top 100, a top 120, and the top JUCO player in the country who got an invite to Team USA camp and they are 5 spots behind them.  Its just odd.  By the methodology, 5 decent is better than 2-3 very good.

Volume as this point, it'll keep falling in the rankings.

gotta wonder if Kobe King (from LaCrosse Central) has any contact with the Davis brothers (from Lacrosse Central).

I'd imagine not a glowing recommendation on his experience at UW.
