Of course MU has way more rich alumni and resources than UCLA so probably not a good comp.   8-)

"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me.” Al McGuire

Not to mention that a legendary blue blood ended up with Cronin.   I think Cronin was a very good coach at Cincinnati.   But the fact of the matter is he was the best a legendary program could land.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

Thank goodness MU doesn't have debt-ridden football to pull us into the red.

You're right. UCLA endowment was $5 billion in 2018. MU was just under $700mm.

Paying off contracts killed the athletic department budget.

Basketball is part of their problem as well.  Basketball part of Cal's debt problem, Oregon has a debt load on Knight Arena, etc, etc.
