Kid came all the way from Cali as a Markus fan too. Cool to see.

The two things I think of when people bring up Markus Howard.

Class and Basketball

Classketball

I'd have an easier time praising Markus if he wasn't taking a leadership role in/being used by an organization that stealthily advocates for discrimination, including against the child of our best player ever, and was deemed too extreme for Chik-Fil-A donations. Class would be distancing himself from them and embracing Cura Personalis, one of the foundations of MU.

So you don't like Markus then.

Not to mention the fact he's affiliated with a university backed by an institution that for decades covered up horrific crimes against children.

SHAME ON YOU, MARKUS.

I'm guessing he doesn't have a clue about that and wanted to start a chapter of something that was religious and athletic.

I would humbly request this remain a positive thread about a really nice gesture.  Start a different thread about the failing gs of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Marquette.

Agree completely. I am a Marquette basketball fan because of our rich tradition, what basketball does for the university, entertainment and my hope of MU winning a NC again in my lifetime. No doubt that Howard, and it appears all of the guys, are great representatives of MU off the court and that is a great added bonus.

Huh, that's something I hadn't read about.  Good for Wade being open about his child.

Thanks for sharing. Recall Stan Johnson saying once Markus committed to MU that he would be a program changer.

Incredible human being. Sure hope he gets to experience a run in NCAA this year.

I find it interesting how many here don’t seem to find this as something noteworthy.

Sigh

Love to see stories like these.  How these can do anything but put a smile on your face is a mystery.
Calvin:  I'm a genius.  But I'm a misunderstood genius.
Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

To each their own....in my view there is a percentage of MU fans, larger than I thought, that just don't care about this stuff at all.  Nothing else matters.

I may have some problems with Wojo, but that was awesome to see. Thanks.

Honestly, off the court, I don’t know if anyone would say a bad thing about Wojo other than being a bit boring in the public view. I’ve heard nothing but great things from people who interact with him. He’s a great representative of MU.
